I reguarly take over friends from Belgium to discover Kent. And on our way through the beautiful countryside, we always stop in Cranbrook to enjoy a very good cup of coffee at Waterloo House. The very friendly staff (owners ?) already recognize us and are very helpfull. Hope to enjoy this lovely tearoom still for a long time.

Very friendly service. Food good, although only ever had breakfast and sandwiches. Always busy but prompt service. Worth a visit!

We live in Cranbrook which has a range of coffee shops. Waterloo is by FAR the best! The service is outstanding. You will be treated as a special guest and the owner takes pride in remembering names and preferences of customers. Food is great with a good range of breakfast lunch and tea to suit everyone. Eggs Benedict with salmon followed by pancakes is a favourite of ours. Food is prepared freshly to request yet served quickly and with care. Cakes are sublime so perfect for a quick coffee and cake stop. If you haven't been before, you must go!!

As I live locally, whenever I go into Cranbrook I usually go into the tea room for a drink and cake. The decor is very pretty with a vintage feel, displays of paintings for sale hang on the walls and decorative witches hang from the ceiling broomsticks. The service is very good, we are always attended to as soon as we sit down by the polite owner (I assume). The menu offers a range of drinks and light snacks. I would recommend the milkshakes as they're made with delicious ice cream, displayed at the top of the stairs.
The only warning I would give is that there are two flights of steep stairs, one set going up and one going down, so elderly people may struggle, there are seats on the ground floor though, it just depends whether or not you are able to get a table on this floor.
