“Excellent B & B”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

We stayed 3 nights in this superb B&B in a lovely setting. Warm and friendly hosts with meticulous attention to detail. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure your stay is totally enjoyable. Greeted on arrival with tea and cake and absolutely wonderful breakfasts to set you up for the day. We will return when hopefully the weather is better.

The weather is just struggling to make amends for all its bad behaviour and you will certainly enjoy this lovely part of Kent all the more in the bee buzzing sunshine. The National Trust visits you came for are legion and the variety, we hope, will bring you back more than once. Thank you for saying such nice things.

We stayed for two nights in the garden house, which can only be summed up as perfect. Sean and Corinna made us feel so welcome and could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The Garden House had everything you might possibly need and more. The bed was very comfortable...and how lovely to be woken to sound of birds. Breakfast was a feast and left us full for most of the day. We will certainly be looking to come again as we could not find fault and the attention to detail was unbelievable. Our stay provided us with the peace and tranquility we needed. Thank you Sean and Corinna. Jon and Lindsey - Northamptonshire, UK.

Room Tip: Garden house was spacious yet cosy, clean and comfortable.

It was really lovely to have you both here and thank you for your kind feed back. It means a lot to us. I very much enjoyed our chats - I've only just explained the technology that goes into making the aerosol cans to my son! Brilliant. I hope you will return again soon, and maybe then you will have time for Leeds Castle and all the other beautiful places near by.

We spent a very comfortable four nights in the Garden Cottage at Godwin House. Sean welcomed us with tea and homemade carrot cake which was delicious. This was the start of an excellent stay. Each morning we were treated to a very tasty full English breakfast (the sausages were divine) and lovely homemade bread and preserves. Both Sean and Corinna were wonderful hosts, suggesting places to visit and ensuring we had places booked to eat in the evenings.Godwin House is in a beautiful part of Kent and we would thoroughly recommend it.

We think the sausages are brilliant too. They come from a local farm and the thing is you have to come back for more because they have quite a number of different ones. I know you like to escape at this time of year but it would be great to have you back in sunnier times. It is always beautiful here but it's so much more fun when it's not drearily teaming down with rain.

We stayed this week in the midst of much rain and windy weather but the garden cottage was so cosy and comfortable. Delicious carrot cake and tea on arrival and at breakfast there were home made preserves to accompany wonderful home made milk bread as well as a marvellous selection of fruit, cereals and a "full English". Corinna and Sean are perfect hosts. We would totally recommend it especially for foodies as the breakfast is wonderful and it's also well situated for the Michelin star restaurants of Kent with Apicius in particular in Cranbrook and Sean providing a taxi service both there and back. Thank you to Corinna and Sean for a perfect winter break.

It was really lovely to have you here and we're glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. I'm sorry that we couldn't change the weather for you - this rain never seems to stop! Nothing quite like enjoying the beach in gale force winds to blow away the cobwebs! And so happy that you enjoyed your meal at Apicius. We hope you will return before too long, and that your friends can make it too next time. Thank you so much for your review - we appreciate it very much. All best wishes to you both.

We only say that Corinna & Sean are the perfect hosts as well as having a lovely house with a cottage accommodation that is worthy of being named the best in Cranbrook !
Not only is the accommodation first class but the little touches such as fresh flowers, fresh milk & biscuits. Even the offer of a Gin & Tonic! All part of the service.
We loved the breakfast with so many options with local produce as well the gorgeous surroundings. To watch out of the window, sheep grazing, Robins feeding & seeing the snow drops emerging.
So many great aspects here, you must try & arrange a stop over. Sean & Corinna thank you

We had the pleasure of staying at Godwin House over a weekend. The accommodation is split into two, the smaller oast house, apparently the oldest in England, and the slightly larger garden room. Both are beautifully furnished and there are plenty of thoughtful touches such as the alarm clocks with iPod docks, WiFi and small sweet treats to be enjoyed with the extensive array of teas provided. Similar thoughtfulness extends to the range of products provided in the bathrooms, which go well beyond the standard quality of variety provided in B&Bs.

Upon arrival we were greeted with tea and deliciously moist carrot cake by our charming, vivacious hosts, Seán and Corrina, who were scrupulous in their care of us. No effort was spared by them to ensure that our stay was enjoyable, including providing a taxi service (for a small fee) to and from our restaurant in the evening.

This review should no end without a mention of the sumptuous multi-course breakfasts that greeted us in the morning, which all but eliminate the need to eat lunch. We look forward to returning again in the future.

Room Tip: Even if just coming as a couple we would advise staying in the garden room, which is a bit more spac...

We really enjoyed entertaining the entertainers and having your talented family as our guests. It's what makes our business fun.
Thank you for highlighting the details which we think are really important in making for a memorable visit but which can often be overlooked. We work on the principle of making it how we would like it to be if we were staying.
We do hope we'll have you here again. It will be lively.

A fascinating and atmospheric place full of history . We had a wonderful weekend celebrating my birthday. I would agree with the other reviews that you are treated like family and I would recommend this to anyone interested in staying somewhere with real character.

The history and the atmosphere of the whole area rubs off on us. We think we're very privileged to live here and we did enjoy sharing it with you for your birthday.
You're right about the Oast House being unique. It is a very special place so you must come back since you can't get it anywhere else - though I wonder if you can have a 'unique' experience twice. Anyway do come back and see if we can resolve that philosophical question.
