We (couple and 2 y old; we brought a cot) stayed in the very atmospheric and comfortable Oast House. Sean and Corinna are adorable and truly excellent hosts; one feels very welcome, pampered even. From the welcoming refreshments to the farewell travel advice; too many excellent details to list, each of which adds to feeling welcome. After coming home one realises that the usual minor discomforts or imperfections of other places, that one takes in one's stride so to speak, were simply absent. Instead you come across many little details that make you feel at home.
Main thing is, the hosts definitely care about your comfort and well-being and succeed in doing so on that fine line between discretion and warmth. Oh and let's not forget to mention breakfast. Breakfast!

It was a pleasure to have your young family in our ancient Oast House. And what a good little one! It was fun to have someone in a high chair at our table again.
We enjoyed the conversations and we hope we'll see you all back soon. As you saw there's much to do around here so every reason to come again.

My husband and I stayed in the Garden Cottage in May (2012) for a two night weekend break. The room was lovely, comfortable, warm and clean and Sean & Corinna were the perfect hosts, breakfast was lovely and the location was perfect for the area we wanted to explore. You just can't fault this lovely little find - Highly Recommended!!

Room Tip: We loved the privacy of the garden cottage.

It's very kind of you to speak so well of us. Thank you. We do think the privacy of our rooms is an important part of coming here.It helps to make it a more personal experience, which is what we try to do in everything.

Recently we were fortunate enough to spend a week in the Garden Cottage at Godwin House, and it was a delightful stay - to say the least. Corinna and Sean are impeccable hosts who provide excellent food, stimulating conversation, and (above all) marvelous hospitality. The entire facility was a picture of tranquility - from their historic house to their lovely gardens, complete with pond. Sean even introduced us to his fascinating hobby of recreating military engagements using his own hand-painted figures and objects. Sean and Corinna are truly interesting people who, along with their lovely children, made our stay one to remember. Not only would we highly recommend this establishment we sincerely hope that we may return as well.

We do want to be included in your next itinerary of Britain. You do get around but we promise you a relaxing time again when you get back here. We can pick up on our conversations and start a few more. It was enlightening to have you with us.

We stayed in the beautiful 'garden room' and had a wonderful time. Excellent hosts who couldn't have done more for us. The room was lovely and the finishing touches made it just perfect. Can't wait to go again!

We didn't expect room service in a B&B but the delicious home-made cake and tea that was brought to our room on arrival certainly hit the spot! We stayed when it was quite cold and discovered when we returned from dining out that extra blow heaters had been put in bedroom and by bathroom as well as hot water bottles in the bed! Breakfast was excellent with homebaked bread. And by the way our hosts offered to drive us to and collect us from nearby restaurants. Where else do you get service like this! Thanks for a lovely stay

We have just returned from a fantastic trip to Godwin House, staying in the Garden Cottage. A wonderful B&B retreat, providing a warm welcome and great attention to detail. Tea and cake on arrival, great recommendations for evening meals, and even filling hot water bottles for our return! Would thoroughly recommend it - great location and great hosts. Thank you for bringing the sunshine with you! Gosh we need more of that. It would be great to see you here again when the summer has got a proper hold of the garden.

We gave extremely short notice and were thrilled to be able to stay at Godwin House; a wonderful, authentic establishment with a very warm, familial and friendly atmosphere. The short hop from Folkestone after a long drive through France was hugely appreciated, so a massive thumbs up for Channel Tunnel travellers. Godwin House is superbly located, thus ruling out the idea of staying in a grim b&b in Folkestone itself (which we have had the displeasure of experiencing pre Godwin discovery!). Sipping a G&T as the fire smouldered and enjoying great conversation with our charming hosts, Sean and Corinna was very comforting indeed. Before long we were happily ensconced in the garden cottage, which was ideal, immaculately clean, all amenities, including a little fridge with fresh milk and bottled water - good thinking. Despite a stupidly early start, our incredibly kind and thoughtful hosts prepared breakfast for us, we were sad not to have been able to stay longer and fully enjoy this little haven of perfect comfort and tranquility but left feeling soothed, fresh and with full bellies! Can't wait for a mega, full fat fry up next time Sean!

Room Tip: The cosy and well appointed garden cottage was delightful but the Oast House is something quite uniq...
