“Good quality B & B”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

We stayed here for just one night whilst visiting our son and daughter at Kent university. We booked this last minute and I had never stayed in a B and B before and didn't quite know what to expect. I need not have worried because this place was great. We had a twin room which was spotless and the beds were really comfy. The bathroom was in the hall but very private and again spotless. It was great to have coffee/tea making facilities, and a vast choice of normal, fruit and herbal tea was appreciated. What impressed us the most was the attention to detail and the quality of the b and b. For example the bed linen, table napkins, towels, etc felt luxurious. Breakfast was delicious, especially the range of fresh fruit and yoghurt. We were given a very warm welcome and Geoff and Dot were attentive to our needs without being intrusive. They had got the balance perfect. I would not hesitate to visit this place again. Thank you.

An absolute joy to meet Dot and Geoff and to be invited into their Home. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Our hosts made sure our needs were catered for and nothing was too much trouble. Good honest tasty Breakfast set us up for the Day. This is by far the best B&B we have every stayed in and have no hesitation in recommending the Amadis to one and all. An added bonus is you are on the Bus route to Canterbury and Whitstable. Well done Dot and Geoff thanks for a lovely stay.

Dorothy and Geoff made us welcome from the start. Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. The location is perfect for visits to Canterbury. Despite first impressions of heavy traffic during the day, things were quiet from 7 p.m. onwards, and we got a good night's sleep. Breakfast was outstanding and alone worth the trip ! Thanks to the Tomaszeks for a lovely stay. Take their advice for an evening meal, and go the the Hare and Hounds just down the road. You won't regret it ! We'll be back.

Our daughter stayed overnight at Amandis 12 months earlier and said she felt secure and said Dot and Geoff were lovely,so on her recommendation my wife and i stayed, just the one night, whilst picking up our daughter from uni.
from the start we felt at home, Dot and Geoff are lovely and very friendly people. The room was just what we expected spotlessly clean. had a great nights sleep in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was ideal, a full english and i mean FULL, well worth the price we payed. a lovely couple,we hope to stay again for our daughters graduation in 2014. We would highly recommend Amandis to everyone

A very warm, friendly couple run this b&b and you will feel welcome as soon as you step through the door. The room was spotless and the breakfast in the morning was great. A bit pricey for a b&b but the effort they put in makes it worth it. Best place we have stayed service wise in Canterbury. Lovely couple who we hope to see again.

As a distant worker, operating in Kent but living in Bucks I have done my share of testing B&Bs in the South East. This is my favourite! Dot and Geoff welcome you into their home with warmth and care. The rooms are spotless, facilities good and you can work or relax in peace and quiet. The Royal Oak pub 5 mins away serves good Harvey's beer from Sussex and does decent food. Do save some space though for Dot's Full English - a real treat. I have stayed regularly at the Amadis for the last six months. It is to be recommended.

we booked this b&b for an overnight stay while visiting university. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the rooms well decorated. We stayed in the twin room, which may not be the best room as was under the eaves and thus quite small, we banged our heads several times when getting off the beds. The room was very clean and nicely decorated with comfy beds, but there was no real wardrobe space, the only hanging space was under the eaves and thus was only about 3 feet tall, fine for an overnight stay as we didn't unpack our bags but maybe not for a longer stay.
Breakfast was well cooked and very tasty
as stated on other reviews it was very hard to find in the dark even with a satnav- we drove past it 4 times before we eventually spied the sign- maybe a light outside or visible house number would be a good idea
