“Fantastic location for a holiday cottage, near the sea and woodland.”
Reviewed January 4, 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Great extended cottage in a wonderful location in West Wight, ideal for family get togethers. Perfect for observing local wildlife discreetly through large sliding glass doors - what a joy!

“A real gem! Twixt woodland and sea, a charming place for a perfect retreat!”
Reviewed December 19, 2016 for a stay in December 2016

A stone's throw from the ferry at Yarmouth, Woodland Cottage is a haven of contemporary chic but with a quirky edge! The owner Natasha provided excellent service for a last minute booking and the spacious property - which would be great for a family gathering - was equally cosy for two. With walks from the door and the sea at the bottom of the garden, a lot of thought has gone into making this a holiday home I would have no hesitation in recommending! Thank you Natasha and Mark - I very much hope to return.

“Perfect seaside spot”
Reviewed October 19, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We were delighted to arrive at this contemporary property only 4 minutes from the IOW ferry in Yarmouth, fabulous 5 star decor & setting. It was ideal for 6 of us with 2 dogs. Charming large woodland garden & easy stroll to the Fort for full English breakfast! It was great to watch the ferries arriving in the distance from the sitting room & bedroom windows with the faraway lights of Southampton. Then wonderful sunsets west over the fort which has a private sunbathing deck on the roof! We really enjoyed the west location, Alum bay was our first beach visit and Freshwater bay . We plan to walk theTennyson way next time! Osborne house & grounds were well worth a visit as well going over the chain ferry in Cowes Altogether we really were impressed with the IOW & will definitely recommend it as it is such a pet welcome place!

“Such a great place to stay”

I stayed here in late July 2016 with my family and had a great time. The cottage has been recently renovated and extended to an exceptionally high standard - so much so that my wife came home with photo's of pretty much every room with ideas for our own home! The cottage has a great garden that we were lucky enough to have the weather to use. Our kids loved the trampoline and the wildlife in the woodland area was amazing with Red Squirrels visiting every day.

There are loads of walks through both woodland and along the coast, and it only takes about 10 minutes to walk all the way into Yarmouth if you want to. Take a torch though!

The cottage was really well equipped. There was a stairgate under the stairs, wi-fi, an ice dispensing fridge, a barbecue. They have thought of pretty much every eventuality. The only thing I wish was there was maybe a couple of sun loungers but that is hardly something to moan about.

If I were going to pick faults, the parking isn't great if you've bought two cars along. You either need to be pretty stealthy to sneak into one of the "not allocated" spaces (to the left as you enter the car park under the tree - shhh!) or park one car at the fort a minutes walk away.

Yarmouth itself is lovely. Lots of nice places to eat and drink although the deli there is a total rip-off and not actually that good. You are right in the top corner of the island, but the furthest places you might want to visit are no more than 30 mins away. We went across to ventnor and osbourne house and the journeys didn't feel at all long.

All in all, a really lovely place that I would definitely recommend. The people who own it have obviously put a huge amount of effort into renovating the property and have really thought about what you need from a holiday cottage.

“Secluded but not isolated and RED SQUIRRELS!”
Reviewed July 24, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

First class accommodation, very clean and spacious. Would definately recommend. Good wildlife ie birds, squirrels, bats and rabbits galore! At the end of a row of terraced cottages but very private, lovely neighbours. Great for those who want to fish off Fort Victoria, two great cafes within walking distance and only a short walk into Yarmouth.
The only drawback for us was that there was very restricted access to being able to have the car at the cottage other than for loading and off loading on arrival and departure,

The first thing we said on arrival was 'Wow!' as it really is an amazing place. Very tastefully decorated and such a light airy feel. Great view of the sea from the lounge and up on the balcony leading out from the Master bedroom. Beautiful enclosed garden, perfect for our dog to wander around and sniff out rabbits, birds and red squirrels. It a about a 10 minute scenic walk to Yarmouth. We would definitely stay again.

We travelled with friends and young children and we found the house to be in perfect order and set in a beautiful garden right by the sea.
The kids absolutely loved the garden and was a perfect base to explore the rest of Yarmouth and the Isle of Wight, would definitely recommend to others
