We have just returned from a 3 night stay at The George and were charmed by the quality of this establishment. Delightful, well equipped/decorated and airy rooms with proper linen and v comfortable beds, excellent food, an extensive wine list and genuinely great service. Lovely residents drawing room next to the bar to crash out in pre or post dinner, and a light and spacious dining room (and a private dining room for larger parties). Manicured lawn with terraces right on the sea. The only reason I gave the 'value' rating a 4 instead of a 5 is that whilst the rooms (with delicious breakfast included) were very good value, dinner (whilst superb quality) was fairly expensive (and hulking starving rugby players may go a little hungry). But I am about 14 stone and was VERY SATISFIED! Lots to do and see in the area, walkers, twitchers and boat spotters paradise. No hotel car park but large long stay car park 2 minutes walk away which was less than £20 for three full days (pay by card in the machine), so you can come and go without having to buy another ticket. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor, door to side courtyard and perfect for disabled (although we aren't) with a separate walk in shower room (grab handle / seat) as well as quality bathroom with shower. Some lovely rooms upstairs with large balconies / decks. A little bit of gentle Dire Straits piped at us during dinner last night for reasons which are obvious if you dig a little. I signed up to Trip Advisor so I could write this ...

Beautiful hotel, had a lovely four poster room, friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Superb meal in the restaurant. Situated right on the quay, cant wait to go back in the summer and enjoy a meal al fresco overlooking the sea.

We spent a day at the hotel and had lunch. We have been lucky enough to travel to many places in the world on business and stayed in many top class hotels. The standard of food and service was absolutely at top level. The staff were very pleasant, the atmosphere was great and we will be back..

Expensive but a very nice hotel. apparently best to book on internet, according to another guest. It was a lovely place but as has been mentioned no hospitality tray for coffee but ordered a tray of coffee and it was delivered free of charge. nice restaurant and very freindly bar person during the evening. Sadly the hot water failed and the receptionist said they were working on it. No discount was offered and I asked if this was a regular occurance she said she didnt think so. when you pay £200+ for a room you expect hot water! still I'm sure they will sort it

Spent a night at The George Hotel. The staff were very friendly, all of them. Its so nice to have some good old fashioned service these days. Our room was lovely, clean, great facitilities & sea view, very comfortable bed, first time I've slept all night in ages.
Good food selection, some nice game & locally sourced. Not loads to do in Yarmouth but some great walks & the option of beauty salons whilst the men are pheasant shooting. So easy to pop across as a foot passenger on the ferry & not have to think about parking the car. You can watch the ferrys toing and froing from the Hotel garden, over a g&t perhaps. Will be going again asap, highly recommended.

The room we stayed in was of a reasonable size with a functioning bathroom. However there was no information pack in the room so no idea of what was around the town or places to visit. No idea how to work the television with no instructions. No radio or clock in the room. There was also no complimentary shampoos or anything in the bathroom. With there being no tea or coffee making facilities in the room I was surprised to be charged for ordering it up to the room each morning. I was also surprised to be charged for the morning paper. When you are paying £255 per night it seems a bit steep to be charged for these little extras.
