Yarmouth Castle
Ranked #4 of 15 things to do in Yarmouth
Attraction details
Reviewed February 4, 2013

On the seafront at Yarmouth the Castle sits between the ferry terminal & Yarmouth pier. If offers very good views to the mainland. The exhibitions are small but informative. Good display in the Master Gunner's Quarters. It is a compact building which looks more like a fortified house rather than a traditional castle with keep, towers, etc. English Heritage gets you free entrance...............not sure if we had to pay would we have visitied! The is a parking lot very near the Castle [where you see Gossip's Cafe] with pay & display: 60p for 30mins, £1-00 for 1hr. With a 2hr maximum. If you just visiting the Castle 1hr should more than do you!

Interesting information centre, great views. Amazingly close to the in-coming ferries, which added a whole new element! Lots of information, not just about the castle, but also about the town of Yarmouth. Don't know how I'd feel about paying to go in (have heritage membership, so free for us), as it's small.

We visited Yarmout Castle with our 5 year old daughter. It was a lovely bit of history for her to understand without trudging around old relics for hours and getting bored. Staff very polite and helpful.

not a lot to see considering the price. I was on a day trip with friends and the castle looked interesting but once inside there isn't much to se, I felt it wasn't worth the entrance fee
