Says it all, plus the need to book a table if you want to eat inside. We didn't stay here but there is not separate Tripadvisor entry for the restuarant alone.

The food was superbly presented and very tasty. The bonus point for us was that an inside area comprising four or five tables is reserved for owners wishing to bring their dogs.

The pub sits on the seafront at Seaview, Isle of Wight, and thus from the outside seating (dogs also allowed) there is a direct view across the Solent to the mainland. It's great for watching the busy stream of cruise liners and commercial shipping. We'll definitely return next time we're on the island.

We stayed at the boat house in early July due to the recommendations from Trip Advisor and had such an enjoyable time that we would like to return when we can. The room was clean, tidy, with a comfortable bed and an amazing sea view. The breakfasts were delicious, and the service superb. Everything was done to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable - thank you to all the staff who were friendly and polite even during busy evening periods and we were made to feel appreciated guests. It was like travelling to another world; next to the accommodation was a well kept park and the walks along the coast in the evening provided some wonderful sunsets. It was a perfect break.

Room Tip: We booked the superior double in order to have a sea view

We eat here whenever we are on the island, usually once every couple of months. Food is always good, tastes home cooked, great choice and variety. Staff are really welcoming and friendly, despite how busy they are. Lovely views from the outside eating area too.

The Boat House Pub has sea views, very comfortable beds and delicious home cooked food, much of which is locally sourced. They offer a selection of real ales and an extensive wine list. Comfortable seating in front of a log fire in the bar area is a welcome sight on a cold day.

We just stayed one night here, but the whole experience was a delight. The friendly staff showed us the room and we were not at all disappointed. The room way very tastefully decorated and furnished. Moreover it was comfortable and practical. The view over the sea was beautiful. What more could you ask for?

In the evening my husband and I shared the cold seafood platter of lobster, crab and prawns. It was really yummy!

We opened the window to our room at night and the lapping of the waves on the shore sent me off to a lovely night's sleep. Breakfast didn't start until 9.00 am so there was no rush to get up in time which is great when you are away for a relaxing weekend.

Really recommend the hotel rooms and the food is divine - though if you are a true vegetarian you may find it difficult to find anything.

First impressions were we thought we had made a mistake, it just looks like an average local pub from the outside and inside. We had a sign on our table that we had booked at 7.00 pm and other guests had booked for 9.00 pm, so not being slow to take the hint, they wanted us out quickly to make room for the next guests.

The service was fine, except the bucket with the cutlery on was banged down on the table by the waitress, but apart from that the service was fine, if a little rushed.

The food was lovely, but this is a local village pub with atmosphere to match and also does very good food. It can be noisy or atmospheric depending on your mood!

We didn't stay here, just had an evening meal, but would go back.
