We booked a last-minute stay in The Boat House this weekend - and it was absolute bliss! The room was stylish, well-equipped, comfortable & beautifully clean - and the location & views over the Solent were wonderful. We had the most amazingly yummy cold seafood platter for supper & smoked haddock with poached eggs for breakfast - couldn't be faulted for flavour, presentation and service. We'll be back!

This is a 'posh' pub with rooms, but in cosy and pleasant surroundings right by the sea, it serves beautifully prepared food. We visited this time last year, and came back on our current holiday to sample their excellent lobster Thermidor. Orgasmic! But not cheap, unfortunately. We've found the average price for a half lobster on the IoW is around £14 to £15. Here it was £19.95. But when you're on holiday and love lobster, what the hell. But it has more of a quiet sophistication that most pubs and its a relaxing place to spend an evening. (Ignore the sleep quality rating. I touched it in error and I can't turn it off! We didn't sleep here.)

We stayed at The Boat House in June 2013.

The place is situated well with the room we stayed in having a great view over the Solent. You could walk to Ryde along the coast in about twenty minutes which if the sun shone was lovely.

The room was clean, modern and just about big enough. The only issue would be the furniture - which although well able to do the job was more Ikea than Italian.

Breakfast was very nice and freshly prepared. We did not eat other than breakfast but the menu looked interesting enough for a pub lunch or dinner. On the first night we hurried back to get a last drink but found the bar had closed early, the second night the chaps behind the bar were more accommodating.

A tiny bit over priced maybe but nothing too much to complain about.

Just back from a two night stay at The Boathouse, The best place to stay on the Isle of Wight . The breakfast was the best we have ever had. The room was well decorated and so clean with everything you need. Going to sleep to the sound of the sea was fab. The staff were so helpful and made you feel welcome. Will be back to stay our next trip.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 402, would recommend this room

Just returned from an overnight stay at the Boat House in Seaview. Warm welcome from the staff and lovely room looking across the Solent to the Spinnaker Tower. Room very well decorated with everything you need including good bathroom with table for washbags. Good choice of food(inc. fish & shellfish) in the restaurant with option for smaller portions which we appreciated. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

My husband and I have just returned from a weekend on the isle of white!we were originally booked into a complex down the road from here which was so awful we could not bear to stay in!!I had considered getting the next ferry home but we popped into the Boat House for a drink and were greeted by such a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere I just wanted to stay!!As soon as I saw the lovely pictures on the walls of the rooms I enquired and they luckily for us had had a cancellation!!(I could not get my bags in quick enough)The food was really good and the bed was soooo comfy my head just sank into the pillows which was a far cry from the prison camp down the road!we had a beautiful view looking out to sea !in the mornings the breakfast is gorgeous and It filled us up all day!!!the staff especially Adam (sorry didnt know anyone else's name) were wonderful and I all in all
The isle of white is probably a little bit tame for myself out of season but I would definately return here when the festival is on!!!!
