A Victorian fort converted into apartments, what a splendid idea. This was a lucky find on the internet via a small company who allow bookings to start on any day of the week not just Friday or Saturday.
We booked a short break here for the family in a four bedroom apartment. The accommodation comprised a large through lounge/dining room with underfloor heating, large, extremely well appointed kitchen, utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and loo, one master bedroom with en suite (complete with it's own 160 foot deep glass topped well), one double with shower room and two twins with shower rooms.
The apartment is divided up so that the lower floor is all bedrooms which are traditionally heated.
The fort is accessed through a secure gate and cars are parked in the inner courtyard.
Everything is provided, there are plenty of towels and an abundance of warm bedding, the interior is very now with multi coloured lighting hidden in the tops of the walls and the vaulted brick ceiling has been made into a feature, cracking.
Go up to the roof and look out to sea in three directions, there are sitting areas and BBQ stands and I suspect that in the summer this would be the place to spend a spectacular evening relaxing.
There is also a very attentive site manager available at all times, excellant fellow.More
