We booked our stay as a cheap holiday near the beach with a hot tub, which is exactly what we got. Had we paid any more than we did we would have been extremely disappointed as there are a few simple things that really let this place down.

As previous reviewers have said, the cleaning standard is dreadful, so much dust and dirt under the sofas and beds. The double bed had a thick mattress topper so wasn't too bad other than being so soft you could see the imprints of where people had laid...but the single beds were utterly shocking! Was literally like sleeping on bare springs - we found some extra duvets in a cupboard which we folded up and put under the sheets to make them remotely bearable! The single beds are also very narrow, only really suitable for children to sleep on.

We had an amusing experience in the cafe when my husband went to order a coffee and the server sat eating a full English breakfast at a table, apologised and said he overslept - then continued to finish his breakfast before serving!

Aside from these things the site, although very cramped, is in a brilliant location and has a great swimming pool which we had to ourselves most times we went. There is a small clean soft play which our young children enjoyed and the staff are very friendly. A shame as it could be so much better if they actually acted upon all these negative reviews - unfortunately we will not book to stay there again.

I have given this a 3 because it is ok and not great. They have spent £600k on a refurb which finished in June this year. The cottage is nicely equipped but the beds are shocking. They are so old and bumpy and the quilts are very lumpy. Why Aria have not purchased new beds is beyond me. Surely this is one of the most important parts of a holiday cottage in respect of comfort. The cleaning is deplorable. It has not been cleaned thoroughly. Under the sofa is so much dusty and hair that I don’t know the last time the sofa was moved out. I daren’t look under the beds. Simple dusting of lamps and bedside tables haven’t even been done. Will not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone until they sort the cleaning and beds out.
If these were done properly then it would be a nice place to stay.
Aside from the above, the hot tub and position for the beach was perfect and this could be a lovely place if only it was clean and had new beds.

Week long family holiday on really uncomfortable beds and sofa, parking very tight making resort feel cramped. A few improvements could make the world of difference but despite earlier reviews saying similar management slow to react. Staff very friendly doing their best

It is a shame that i have to give negative feedback for this place, it has the potential to be excellent, however we were let down on a few things, on arrival, the requested double instead of two singles was not done, milk supplied was 3 days out of date, bags of dogs mess left in garden by hot tub, shower blocked, bathroom dirty, dirty sock found under bed and a guests driving licence, credit cards etc left in bedside table, reported all this to reception and showed them photo's of fluff and hair in corners and along skirting,in all fairness dealt with most of these complaints fairly quickly, but not the start to our break we would have expected in a premium accommodation, also the single mattresses are very uncomfortable as reported by other guests,
the whole place could be great, has potential to be very nice if only more attention was given to the accommodation and grounds, nice pool, reception and staff friendly and helpful, I did write to the company on my return and was told this is very unusual, but there are a few reviews that state the same sort of problems, we were offered 10% discount on a future booking, which is a bit of a cheek when you have to pay an extra £25 for extra cleaning if you take your dog.

We have had the most wonderful stay here. The lodge was great, beautifully decorated and had everything you could need (towels, kitchen utensils, welcome packs for bathroom and kitchen with essentials you may have forgotten!). The pool was lovely, we couldn’t get the children out of it. The hot tub was a massive bonus and was used everyday. Lovely to see the water was changed before we arrived and checked throughout the week. Great location and quiet for families at night time which is needed for us with small children needing to sleep!

A few niggles - the WiFi was a little poor but we were able to rectify it (thank you!) and the mattresses a little soft but we still slept so nothing major.

We will rebook again as soon as we are home - I’m writing this review before I leave! Thank you to the lovely staff as well.
