The first WOW from the family said it all. You could literally live in these cottages. Large lounge with 3 piece, and dining table for 4 too. Kitchen with every kind of electrical appliance possible. Large double bedroom and even larger twin. Bathroom bigger than our home bathroom. Late check in was easy and the owners were on end of phone at all times for any problems eg battery gone in smoke detector at 8pm. Great service. Pool to ourselves at 8.30am. If you dont want a noisy clubhouse, takeaway and amusements on site this is perfect and only 20 mins from newport which was a pleasure to drive across the hills.in middle of island. Great location 5 mins walk from beach and 15 from town with 3 supermarkets and various pubs and take aways. Parking next to our own patio area with furniture to eat outside, will be great in summer.
Now the niggles, 3 in our party but you could have given us more than 3 knives 3 forks 3 plates etc. The dish washer was never full. Some doors creak. The shower sprays water on bathroom floor. That's it, and not enough to even affect a great week. We will definately return here. Is the west of island too far from attractions?? I had that concern but as the days go by the island seems to get smaller and the drive along the south coastline is breath taking. If you have read any other of my reviews you will know i like to get a "deal". Hoseasons eventually gave us 2 cottages for 60% off and we found a voucher for large discount off redfunnel ferry, who by the way are so much better than wightlink if you dont mind the extra drive to southampton. A great site and a great holiday with an amazing hot tub.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It is so nice to hear when our guests have had such a wonderful stay and enjoyed the Isle of Wight as a whole. The Island, as you may already know, has so many attractions and interesting places to visit and we encourage all of our guests to experience them. The team at Colwell wishes me to express their gratitude for your lovely comments, they work really hard to make every guest experience a memorable one and they were so pleased that they manage to do this for you and your family. We look forward to your return.

This is now our ( 3 adults ) second visit and everything was as expected. The bonus touches this visit were the tea, coffee, bread and milk provided on arrival. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable with everything in place and warm. If its peace and quiet you are after then this is the site. Plenty of walks with the beach only 5 mins from the cottages. The site itself was spotless. Would happily recommend.

I stayed here with my hubby, 6 year old daughter and 6 year old niece. Overall we had a lovely time at Colwell Bay. We stayed in Yarmouth Cottage which was a good size though the double bedroom felt cramped, not really enough space around the double bed. There was a second bedroom with 2 single beds and a big wardrobe that was ideal for the girls. The lounge was a good size with TV and DVD player and a dining table. The kitchen was quite small but had plenty of appliances in. There were only 4 of everything and in our cottage there were not enough teaspoons and I felt I had to clean the plates etc before I first used it. Some of it was dirty!
The hot tub out back was fantastic and even though it was the last week of October we still managed to use it. The girls loved it.
There is a swimming pool on site, not too big, but great to have. Again the girls loved their afternoon swim. The pool is open from 8.00am to 7.00pm.
There is a small beach close by, less than a 5 minute walk, though the sea was in so no sand. We arrived the day of storm Jude so it was quite a mess down there but I am sure it is lovely in the summer months.
There are quite a few cottages on this complex but it still felt quiet and we had a lovely holiday.

My fiancé and i needed to get away for our week off work. We loved our cottage, it was the perfect getaway :) arrived to a warm place with bread and milk and tea! very modern and clean cottage. The beach was a 5 minute walk and we enjoyed a nice stroll on the prom. Great value for money, highly recommended. Also Visited the isle of wight zoo which was brilliant, saw lions and tigers up close. A beautiful island.

We have just returned from our annual holiday spent at the excellent Colwell bay holiday cottages, the accommodation was clean, comfortable and very comfortable for a family of four. The site is well located for visiting the many local attractions and has all of the on site facilities you could need.
The welcome we received on arrival was fantastic and the welcome pack gave us everything we needed for our first day. The cottage could be slightly better equipped with more cutlery and crockery but on the whole had everything that we needed.
We stayed in a Yarmouth cottage which had a hot tub in the garden which was very well maintained.
We had a great time here and would recommend it to any family looking for a good value holiday destination.
