Went to the Vine on Sunday with some trepidation as last time we visited it was in the hands of a holding company and was not good. Went this time out of nosiness as under new management and was impressed - Sunday roast was great, including the vegetarian bake option, new owners seem very welcoming and the atmosphere just seemed totally different to last time. Nice touches have been added - like colouring books and games for the small people along with a sandpit in the garden and there appears to be something on most evenings. Really hope they make a go of it, it would be great to have a proper village pub with real soul again.

We stopped to have an evening meal in the Vine yesterday after seeing that the new owners had taken over at the weekend. Food was superb and the landlady even gave our dog something to eat! The pub was busy and we stayed for the Monday quiz in the end which was well attended and good fun. Staff were friendly, food was great and lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to visitors and there was something different on each night!

Chef seems to have run of the place and makes his own recipes up as he goes along. Manager is rude. If you care to know what recipes are used and what is going to be in your dish exactly then don't go here. Or as the manger says.... It's your fault. Grrrr so so rude

From what I could see, The Vine no longer serves food. On a Friday evening the place looked much less crowded than it used to be and there were no families due to lack of food. This is a shame, as the food was always reasonably priced and very good. Perhaps the new owners are preparing a re launch or something but in the meantime, The Vine looks to have become a drinking pub. I for one will miss the food. Hopefully the new people will bring it back. Perhaps this is temporary blip? I hope so because they always seemed to do a lot of food covers, and there should be a demand. Strange, for a village centre pub. Best of luck to the new owners, it would be a shame to lose customer loyalty before they've even got started.
