“Definitely a cottage worth staying at.”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

We were both 64, so, in the spirit of fun and romance, we decided we needed to go to the Isle of Wight and rent a cottage if it's not too dear... as the Beatles sang. We went without reservations. As luck would have it, we stumbled upon Albert's Cottage as soon as we drove off of the ferry.

The rooms were nicely filled with antiques... each one is different. The garden setting was nice and quiet when we were there... though they do have facilities for receptions in their Consort Restaurant. We ate in their smaller hotel restaurant and the meals were good for dinner. The service was good too... we were told much of the staff is training for the hotel business... I think they're learning well. Breakfast was nicely presented too.

It is also right next to Osborne House. Apparently Albert bought it as some sort of a little addition for Victoria's guests at one time. Definitely a cottage worth staying at.

We travelled over to the Isle of Wight for a family wedding May 25th, on the Friday the weather was absolutly awfull wind, rain and very cold but awoke on Saturday to lovely warm sunshine. The reception was held at Albert Cottage Hotel and what a perfect location it is. The staff could not have done more or been anymore professional. Everything was handled smoothly from handing out the welcome drinks and canapes to the military precision in which the main meal was delivered to guests. The venue was beautifully decorated for the wedding breakfast and afterwards was cleared away so quickly and efficiently that the room was soon clear and available for the disco to set up. A fish and chip supper appeared later again without fuss. Each meal or snack prepared by the hotel was delicious.
When 4 of us needed a taxi back to our hotel ( bride/groom, brides parents grooms parents bridesmaids and best man had used all the rooms :) ) The manager who made himself known all evening to make sure everyone had all they needed, immediately phoned around for us. He came back and said the prices he'd been quoted were unreasonable and offered to take us himself......this was the funny part, my shoes were off by then ( why do posh shoes do such nasty things to poor little feet ) anyway as we walked or in my case hobbled across the gravel driveway I noticed the manager moving seats in his " SPORTSCAR" there were 4 of us !!!!!!!! well 3 of us wedged ourselves into the back and 1 in front, when we got to our hotel the poor manager had a real struggle to unwedge us and pull us out of his car. In my opinion The Albert Cottage Hotel is first class hotel with staff that are willing to go the extra mile to make sure their guests are happy.

This is a really suitable accommodation for Osborne House visit and it is in theme with its architecture and style. It was once part of the ancient property. Our room (n. 7) was very nicely furnitured, bright and comfortable. The breakfast and restaurant can be improved but it is well worth spending your holiday there.

I stayed at the Albert Hotel a couple of days before Christmas. I had intended to write a review back then never got the time or chance. Three months later, still in my mind that I had a lovely stay in a truly beautiful hotel. I would recommend The Albert Hotel as one of the finest hotel to stay . Beautiful room, beautiful grounds and excellent and very welcoming service. I will be back one day soon. Fifi

Stayed here at the beginning of march. The hotel was very quiet but we enjoyed the quiet. Great location- short walk to east cowes and Osbourne house. We had a huge, clean, lavish room with a huge bathroom. Service was friendly and professional, only feedback would be a reception and desk as it was a bit strange checking in and out in the lobby! Other than that, the hotel ties in nicely with its historical neighbours and the bed was very comfy! We didn't eat in the restaurant but the breakfast was fresh and cooked to order and the open fire in the breakfast room was a lovely touch! Thank you Albert Cottage.

I have just returned from a three night stay at the Albert Cottage with my mum, my husband and my 7 year old daughter and we had such a wonderful time. The reason we chose to stay here was because of my daughter's fascination with history and because this has such a close link to Osborne House (it used to be owned by Prince Albert and was once part of the Osborne Estate) we chose to stay here. It was a beautiful hotel in the most picturesque grounds, and once inside you could tell there was royal history in the air! We wandered in the grounds once arriving and really felt as if we had left our busy City lives on the ferry! The staff were so attentive, welcoming and kind. The family room we stayed in was like a flat, I could have easily have lived here! It was warm, spacious, cosy, everything we could have asked for, And it was literally a 2 minute drive from the Red Funnel Ferry Port so ideal for crossing the Solent and not having to drive much further. The food was also delicious, and dining in a room that used to be the dining room for Princess Louise does not get much more magical. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for an amazing few days.
