We stayed in room 1 on the weekend of Saturday 8th September. When we arrived the welcome was warm and was amazed by the beauty and elligence of the room. We had dinner at the hotel in the evening and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time!!. Staff where extremely friendly especially the waitressing staff who served us. Room was very comfortable and woke up to the nice sound of swaying trees in the garden surrounding the hotel which is a nice change from seagulls. The breakfast had a nice variety and was just the right size. My only flaw would be that the hotel for its quality of food and rooms should be more full as at times we felt like no one else was around apart from staff. Overall a brilliant weekend break!

We had a lovely stay here after a day at osbourne house, only a minutes drive away.
Room 1 was a great surprise, very large and double sofas at the end of the bed, shame it was summer must be fantastic when the log fires going.
Room 3 was smaller but just right for us with a large central bath and double wash basins.
Both rooms were spotless and great bath robes.

After eating at some of Londons best restaurants i fail to see why this place was so quiet, thanks to the chef and his team that served us some wonderful food.
The best fillet steak ever and the scallops for starter were done to perfection as was the stuffed figs and blue cheese.

We felt at ease during our stay and was no problem just calling out if we needed anything so much nicer than these stuck up hotels.

Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety and the bottled fruits were all very tasty with the yogurt. Cooked breafast was just as good to send us on our way.....Thank you to every member of staff.

Room Tip: Try to get room 1

Arrived in Cowes late on a Sunday, found it difficult to find a restaurant but Albert Cottage fed us a superb 3 course meal for under £17--food was great, wine was good, staff really attentive.

Cannot fault this place, just a shame more people were not there,

We arrived here last week for a three night stay with some friends - we chose room 3 and our friends had room 1.
Room 3 had a lovely balcony and largest bathroom with centre bath and a double shower, with two wash basins but the bedroom was small. Room 1 had the biggest bedroom with settee and two french door openings onto a juliette balcony - the bathroom was quite a bit smaller than room 3. The restaurant is quiet and the food excellent but the service throughout the hotel is a bit hit and miss. i.e. if you wanted to order a drink or a cup of tea in the lounge you had to look for the staff not the other way around. Also keys are kept in a drawer in the reception area which we thought was quite strange as clearly anyone could help themselves to the keys. Also missing were some shelving in the bathrooms for makeup, toiletries, deoderant etc if you want to be by a mirror with bright lights to apply! The location is superb for all things to do on the island and although we only had a glimpse at the other rooms I feel sure that room 1 or 3 have got to be the best. Maybe they should put more pictures on their website? The hotel was not full but the staff sat in their office all the time and did not float about.

Room Tip: Room 1 is the best or 3 if you like a huge bathroom.

I had never been to the Isle of Wight before and only had 1 night for our stay prior to a cruise from Southampton. As we were just coming to the island to see Osborne House, Albert Cottage seemed like a great option. I had very professional assistance and communication with the hotel prior to our stay.

When we arrived on the IOW I decided to take the chain ferry which left us in East Cowes but too far for my mother to continue up the road to the hotel. I called the hotel from Waitrose and they sent a taxi and in a few minutes were were being shown to our room.

The website while not exactly false advertising does not convey what the rooms actually look like. We saw two rooms and settled on the second one. The website describes the rooms having antiques but the only thing old may be the design which needs an update. Room 11 was supposed to be our room for the night but it had two little twin beds that were almost touching the floor. I lived in Japan so that was not new to me but it was not appropriate for this kind of hotel. They also had two chairs against a wall and two ottomons also against the wall but not in front of the chairs. The room seemed more like a storage room. The bathroom looked well kept and everything seemed very cleam.

Our eventual room was #10 and had a nautical theme and was much better than the previous one. It was for a family with two separate rooms and a living room area. We rested for a bit and then took a walk to find something to eat at Osborne House, We arrived just before they had stopped service in the concession. We had tea and a little pastry. Once back at Albert Cottage we were hungry for dinner and were shown to the sitting area to enjoy a cocktail.

This was all very British and proper but I was famished and just wanted to eat. We were polite though and had our drink and then shown to the dining room. We were the only diners for the night. The food was exceptional! Very delighted by the choices and the service. I had paella and my mother had fish. The dessert was also very good. Breakfast the next day must have a different chef as it was just adequate. We did see a few other guest though in the morning.

As this was just a short visit, Albert Cottage was adequate for our needs to see Osborne House but not what we expected. I thought it would be more charming and the rooms would look a lot different. However, it was clean and we a had a great meal so all was not lost.

Room Tip: Pass on #11. It is not good.

We stayed here for one night on a Saturday in July. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and we had both a bath and separate shower which was perfect. The food was great, we had a really nice meal on the Saturday night, food was fab but the service was slightly lacking. We asked for a jug of water, which we got but they forgot any glasses for the water!! Little things like that which make the difference. However, the food was very good, if not, a little expensive. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from.

There was a wedding on whilst we stayed but because the wedding venue is at the far end of the building, we were not disturbed at all.

We will definitely come back. The hotel was ideal if you're attending anything at Osborne House, as you can walk. Shame Tom Jones cancelled.
