“Not as good as expected.”
Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

The good points were that my lemon pudding was great. My chicken was cooked to my liking and tasted good. My partners lasagne was very very herby and she had to leave half. We ordered a cold apple pie for another in our party and that came 10 minutes after the other sweets but was hot (if they cant serve hot because frozen they could mention the fact). My one real gripe was the table we were sat at. It was a plank effect table with deep grooves that contained sugar, salt, a lemon pip, a wooden skewer and various other matter. Will go again but will sit at a different table.

“Only place for breakfast”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

So we've had a long sailing trip and all we wanted was a full breakfast at 8am in Cowes, well we searched for a while and nothing was open. We were then directed to the Fountain Inn, we made our way to the rear of the hotel to the breakfast area which is very pleasant and greeted by a couple of young ladies that took our order. Now here's the thing, we're in a hotel and you would expect to pay over the normal price. Not in this case we had two full English breakfast, fruit and a pot of tea £9:95. Excellent price, breakfast and service. If you are looking for breakfast at 8am then there is only The Fountain Inn and it is well worth it.

“Looking forward to next visit”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

I think this hotel is part of The Old English Group which has traditional English character standards and anyone staying at The Fountain Hotel, Cowes, will be able to experience the pleasure of this standard. The bedroom and bathroom in room 5 were really good and was a delight to stay in. The downside to this hotel is there is no parking facility, overnight parking is about 300 yards away up a steep hill and costs £7.00 per night.

“rude staff”
Reviewed June 19, 2013 via mobile

if you point out dirty cutlery and get a muttered aside and rolled eyes, and then pull them up on it and get raised voices and snotty comebacks, you know the staff attitude to actual complaints would be truly terrible; typical pub grub for ok prices considering prime location; needs redecorating; it would be average all in all if not for rude waitresses

“Good food, slow orders & no baby changing”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

We ate here because it was the nearest place & we were starving. The food was surprisingly good, but it took ages to get it. The service was friendly. Biggest disappointment was that it was supposed to be family friendly - children's menu, highchairs, but had no baby changing facility, and there isn't one anywhere nearby.
