This is a place where you can't get bored, the amount of signs around the place to read. The food is good not microwaved as most cafes on the isle of wight. Eggons is a Blackpool cafe on the island. it's a proper seaside cafe which is good to find on the island. The staff are good and helpful well worth going for food.

If you like deep fried cheep food then this is the place for you. I have been to this place several time now. Before and after the re decoration. The quality of the coffee is poor as is the breakfast. The sausages are cheep and the eggs not good. The waiting staff are very polite but the constant ringing of a bell to signify that a meal is ready can get a bit tiresome. The isle of Wight has many very good local fresh food producers same they don't use them. Like other places who offer breakfast for the same price.

Having woken hungry and thirsty on our yacht, we could have made something ourselves but when we are away we like to experience the place and meet the people of the area we are visiting.

Cowes is a wonderful place and the brightly painted Eegon's of Cowes caught our eye the night before with their wonderful coloured prints of their breakfasts stuck to the windows. That following morning we remember those images and venturd the short walk from Cowes Yacht Haven to Eegon's (o more than 5 minutes!) and found we were made to welcome from the moment we stepped into the establishment. With a cheery 'Good Morning' from the staff. The brews we eagerly needed were swiftly put in front of us to enjoy whilst selecting from the vast breakfast menu which included a Steakfast and one so big if you cleaned your plate you got a certificate and put on the hall of fame!

I opted for bacon, eggs and toast and my Husband gamon, eggs & beans. Whilst we waiting a short while for the homecooked food I enjoyed my decent strong cup of tea and was occupied reading all the funny posters on the wall, I especially enjoyed reading why Eegon's is called Eegon's with the owners profile proudly placed on the wall for all to see.

We both enjoyed our hot breakfast very much and the staff looked so well organised with food cooked down below and sent up in a mini hand pully lift.

The total bill was £11, which was great value.

Go and experience Eegon's we were so glad we did.
