We have been here 3 times for lunch over the last couple of years. This time on a sunday we all had the roasts. Two had lamb, one beef, the other chicken.( £11.00 each) All very good, just wish we had somewhere in Ryde like this. Excellent wine list, so good you can order a Pichet.

Staff all very friendly. This was the first time we have been and seen the extension next door, which looked great, gives the Coast a lot more room.

Please open a branch in Ryde!

Great food, went in for a light lunch. Pizza was lovely. Had a glass of wine, which was rather expensive but was really good. Service was ok, lots of staff on hand. Really enjoyed it. Was slightly pricey tho, so would not be an a every day place. Overall was really lovely reminded me of a Jamie's Italian inside. Pudding was to die for try the lemon tart.

Intending to sample the new pizza menu, but being a sunday didn't want to break tradition - opted for the roast.

Service was again excellent: not fussy but pleasant

Beef & yorkshires, again were excellent - with great ( homemade? ) horseradish
Tasting my friends lamb -beautiful - with lovely mint sauce

However - If I am to give a balanced review - I would like to say that some attention needs to be made to the roast potatoes ( cooked in goose fat ) the second time they have been below the standard of previous visits.
Lacking in crispiness, possibly a hotter oven & some vegetable oil to help crisp up would help.
Previous visits the parsnips have been excellent - again - no lovely caramelisation going on - instead just cooked and slightly anemic.

for pudding the table had a Baileys Tiramisu, Chocolate raspberry cake from the counter & a sticky toffee pudding.

Tasting all three:
the Tiramisu was deconstructed to a point, with creamy loveliness,
the cake ( not on the dessert menu but from the bar ) at a very reasonable £2.50 a slice - was better than the previous visit but I would have paid extra for a some accompanying cream.

the sticky toffee pudding - served with clotted cream was " the best I have tasted " proclaimed my friend - and after tasting myself I would have to agree. So often disappointing this was a beautiful light but dense sponge with sticky sauce and the clotted cream adding luxury

The new dining room area look great and adds the space this place deserves - the pizza will have to wait till next time!

second review but by far not my second visit and definitely not my last

Newly installed wood oven is now the focus of this restaurant, apparently, and we were limited, because it was a Sunday, to food largely produced using it. Starters of prawns in garlic and mushrooms in garlic and cheese, with a side salad, then two pizzas, Pecorino and a Mista.

Food was very hot and quickly provided by friendly staff. Wine was an NZ Pinot Noir, but the wine list is rather limited.

The noise level was tremendous. People bellowing at one another, crying children, running about on bare wooden floors - not a place to go for a quiet intimate 'dining experience'. It was hard to make oneself heard.

That said, not a bad choice if you enjoy the buzz.
