Recommended to us by the B&B owners, this is a really nice place to experiance fine fish. I would recommend this place to anyone for an evening meal. Quality fresh fish, seasonal and simply cooked and good value for money. I would recommend the Hake, but thats just my taste...

We have been eating in Murrays for more years than I care to remember. Anyone into their boats who has stepped foot in Cowes will have eaten here and with good reason.

If you like your fish then you won't be disappointed. Vegetables are simple, there are non fish alternatives, the wine list won't break the bank and if you have room the the desert menu will have something which hits the spot.

Murrays doesn't try to be cutting edge or too clever for it's boots. You know exactly what you're going to get each time you eat here.

The front restaurant leads through to a larger back room which houses boat crews as and when they book. Bags of character and a font of local knowledge. If you want to know what's going on locally speak to Murrays. Keen supporters of local charities, in particular the life boat association.

I have been coming to Murray's for many years and have never been dissatisfied. The service is friendly and efficient and the prices very reasonable. The fish is the best around, unrivaled by any fish I have eaten in the uk to date. Simple and unpretentious to the core. Thoroughly recommended to all.

We went to eat at Murrays following the glowing recommendations on Trip Advisor and other dining sites, but to be completely honest were a little disappointed in what we experienced.

When we walked into the place, we were immediately on edge - as the place was pretty full, but it was deathly silent. Because there was no music, and people were crammed so tightly together, it was as if everyone was afraid to make a noise. We were about to leave, when our waitress came over and we decided we kind of couldn't leave!

Keen to ignore the atmosphere, and excited about our seafood indulgence ahead, we ordered a rather nice bottle of Prosecco and ordered our food. The Prosecco was excellent, although it came in a plastic bucket, and we waited in anticipation of our mussels. When they arrived, they looked a little bland, and we were most put out to have them deliver a blue plastic sand bucket for the shells! How bizarre! When we tucked in, they were really disappointing. The mussels were lovely and fresh, but the sauce was watery, bland, and the onions were uncooked.

When our mains arrived, we asked for another bottle of Prosecco, but they had run out. With only Cava left on the menu, we decided to just finish with water. My main was sublime - the Sea Bass catch of the day, but the accompanying veg and potatoes were tasteless and watery. My husband's dinner of Coley fillet was terribly dry (maybe overcooked) and you could only taste the Chorizo - not the beautiful fish.

All in all, we left feeling pretty deflated, after having anticipated such a wonderful experience. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but we certainly wouldn't give the same recommendation.
