We bobbed in on a cold january midweek night and had such fun and the most delicious homemade pasta and very fresh locl crab. The Cannelloni in particular was so good and the crab so fresh. We will be back...a lovely evening.

We have just spent 5 days staying in Bonchurch & had been told to try the Bonchurch Inn by friends, well we ate there every evening & 1 lunchtime & it has got to be the best pub in the island for perfect ale, wine & most of all the food.
It has been owned by the same family for 30 years, the Besozzi family (so a very good Italian menu) & it was originally the Tap room in 1840 for the Bonchurch Hotel, the stables of which are now the public bar.The atmosphere was warm & welcoming & my fillet steak just melted in the mouth & was bursting with flavour.Sea Bass was absolutely fresh & was delicious & my final evening's King Prawn Portofino came in a bed of rice ,mushrooms, pernot & cream & was to die for. What a fantastic place! Do go there.

We ate there on a beautiful Saturday lunchtime after a walk from the Botanical Gardens in Ventnor. Mindful that we had to walk back we tried not to eat too much but in the end decided on 2 of the specials lasagna and canneloni both of which were up to the usual standard.
The patio area at the back is georgous and dog friendly there are always dogs around whenever we go there.
All in all a very friendly small relaxed pub full of character with authentic Italian food and a good choice of real ale.
