A pleasant b&b in a lovely "Black and White" village. We had a room overlooking the main road but there is little traffic to bother you, however there are rooms in another building 20 yards to the rear with off-street parking if preferred. The rooms are large, warm and well equipped although the public room is cold, unwelcoming and not a place to linger. Breakfast was reasonable although the cooked option was overcooked and the breakfast room was rather busily decorated with kitsch. All in all I'd recommend it but it could be improved with little effort.

Room Tip: Try the four poster rooms, they're the best.

We didn't stay here, but were looking for somewhere to eat lunch. We chose the Hereford Ploughmans, with three different sorts of local cheese, a well dressed salad, some lovely fruit, and various pickles and chutneys. It was all delicious.

The room where it was served is done as a very traditional tearoom. There's also a delightfully shabby conservatory with crocheted blankets over the backs of wicker sofas and, if the weather's warm enough, a couple of tables out in the back garden. It's a very pleasant place to eat a light lunch.

We stopped in Weobley, on the off chance of finding somewhere to have a light lunch, and spotted the Gables. It was ideal, welcoming and comfortable. The carrot and coriander soup was exceptional, and the bread served with it was delicious. We were unable to resist the scones, which we had with jam and cream, and green tea - there is a great selection of teas on offer. I am sure we will be back. The Gables is our ideal tea room, friendly, great food, great value, and a delightful atmosphere.

My wife and I stayed at The Gables for three nights including New Years Eve 2012 and cannot praise this guest house highly enough. It is the third time that we have stayed at The Gables whilst visiting our son and his family who live in Weobley and on each occasion have been treated to warm hospitality, a very clean and well-decorated room and a hearty full English breakfast. We have always stayed in room 1 with its four-poster bed and slept comfortably and soundly without any strange or unusual experiences (as recounted by a previous reviewer). If you are thinking of spending time touring the Hereford area I would suggest that this venue would be ideal place to stay in.

I'm a regular visitor to the gables and have nothing put praise to ladle on David and Sians brilliant guest house. Weobley is a stunning village and the gables is a jewel in its crown. The wonderful architecture oozes quintessentially Englishness from every timbered beam and it has a timeless quality. Room 1 is my

We booked to stay New Year's Eve - only us there, in Room 1 (recommended by owners) there was a book in the room recording peoples experiences with strange happenings. At 3 a.m. we were woken by noises, rattling chains, screaming, thudding noises and when the light was put on it all stopped! We asked the owners the following morning if they had previous people complaining of the same experience. They said no and the owner said he was born in that particular room. I later rang the owners and asked them again - they denied any paranormal activity. The building, service and breakfast were excellent, but the room was an unbelieveable and frightening experience I would never want to have again. If there is anyone who wishes to investigate the paranormal this is the B&B and room for them.

Room Tip: Avoild Room 1 unless you want a horrendous experience!

The Gables is a very good B&B located right in the heart of one of the nicest villages in England (it won the 1999 competition). On the ground floor they have a charming tea shop, which looks like something out of one Miss Marple's novels. The owners are very welcoming and accommodation is very comfortable with most rooms en suite. Rooms are traditionally decorated as this is a typical black and white house, full of character. Our bed was very comfortable and we had an excellent night's sleep.

There are some very, very minor points which if addressed would propel this B&B to stratospheric heights. The hospitality tray for example, would benefit from a slightly greater choice of beverages to include herbal tea and hot chocolate, rather than just tea or coffee (and please, please, PG Tips at this level of service is definitely a no-no!) also even a little biscuit wouldn't go amiss. The bathroom, which was by the way very clean, didn't have anywhere to put our toiletries, no shelves of any kind and this made it awkward to use. Aside from a shelf, a small sachet of shower gel, in addition to the basic hospitality soap, would be a nice touch too.

English breakfast was faultless with high quality produce and good coffee.
I would definitely stay again and if these comments are read I hope they are taken constructively as this place definitely deserves to excel.
