Visited just for the day on this occasion, stayed overnight on a previous visit. Lovely welcome at reception. Pre-booked treatments were not at the times requested but I was able to move them on the day. Fantastic facial, body radiance treatment and full body massage. I came out feeling like a new woman! Therapists were all very professional. Greeted (if you can call it that) by a smarmy and sarcastic maitre d at the restaurant at lunchtime, he is not a good representative for Champneys. Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. I was not offered a drink (water or anything) at any stage during my meal. I had to go and find a waitress so that I could order tea. The buildings and grounds are beautiful and well worth a walk at some point during your stay.

This is my second trip. I am pleased to report that the quality of the place has not changed and the resort itself and the staff were excellent. I can really find no fault with the facility. I stayed in the main building first time in older rooms, but full of character. The Garden Wing (superior room) was a little disappointing because although clean was spartan. I would describe the accomodation as three star in a five star setting.

Room Tip: Try and get a room in the main building. Garden Rooms can be a bit of a hike

This is the place to come if you want to relax, eat lovely healthy food, keep fit with the facilities and go for nice long walks in the grounds and local countryside. All the staff are there to please. I can only endorse what has been said by many others below so there is no point in repeating.

From the very first moment to the end of the day, I cannot praise the staff enough. Nothing was too much trouble, the treatments were fantastic. I would happily recommend this health resort to anyone and I shall certainly visit again.

Thank you

First of let me start by saying this is not a hotel. So if you are looking for a hotel, this is not your place.

Champneys is a health resort where the environment and even the food is there for you to experience such. So you need to come in this mind frame that its a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is exactly what my partner had for a 2 night break.

They even have a note about not using mobiles, which is amazing..I loved turning my phone off fo the 2 days. Also no children are allowed..

From the start the staff were amazing and hospitality was second to none. Hannah at the reception was always at hand to help us out.

We had a small issue on check in, but this was dealt amazingly well by Kerri the Room service manager

As its a health resort the food is going to be different which was all part of the experience. The following guys at the restaurant were amazing: Fabio, Alexander and Curtis.

The Spa receptionist Charlotte, was also amazing when dealing with our concern. Our message therapists were Hayley and Ashleigh Wilson who were also amazing.

My only fault would be the design of the Swimming pool and it being separate from the Jacuzzi and Steam room though I am still rating the whole experience 5*.

Room Tip: Room 31 is the largest Superior Room facing the garden..

Just back from a 2-night break, feeling really relaxed. As ever the food was amazing.... great to feel satisfied rather than really full, and knowing that the food is all fresh and well balanced nutrition wise.

My tips for your stay - don't forget a small canvas bag; for your book / water bottle / anything else that can't fit in your robe pockets. Take your own DVD's rather than relying on their DVD library - there were only 4 to choose between when we asked! Take at least 2 swimming costumes so you have a dry one to change back into.

Some elements of the trip I would rate average - which could easily be improved.
Really enjoyed the thalassotherapy sessions, but some of the jets had very limited pressure (especially when compared to Forest Mere).
Layout: The swimming pool and the thalossoareas are completely separate - both are lovely but would have swam more if they were closer. Swimming pool changing area is great, thalosso is tiny and looking a little tired.
Coffee shop: Felt a bit overwhelmed at times with orders. Great smoothies and coffee selection, pressure would be easied on the coffee shop staff if an addtional coffee machine was added to the main restaurant, rather than sending orders across to the coffee shop.

Only little niggles, overall a great weekend away

Room Tip: Superior rooms in the Mansion have much more character and charm than standard / new part of the hot...

The Champneys Tring is a great hotel. However it might not suit everyone taste.
I was there because of work, so I wasn't really (or at all) the target demographic : I was missing a good internet connection (wi-fi signal too weak in my room, but otherwise it is free, and when it is working, it is quite fast)...
The Champneys offers great services for those that are there for the spa. The location is very nice, even if the access is a little bit difficult. The property is vast and beautiful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not too far from the wi-fi routers (if you need internet like I did)
