“underwhelming”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

we have a local prezzo which we've never managed to get into as it's always full, so when we visited the natural history museum in tring at half term, we decided to go for a late lunch. we will not be bothering to try to get into our local branch again after experiencing one of the most disappointing meals we have had for years. the staff were very friendly, and the choice of food seemed ok, if a little 'generic italian style chain restaurant fayre'. it took quite a while for somebody to take our food order as they were clearly understaffed, and sadly the special that my husband ordered was unavailable, but we were none the less looking forward to our meals. unfortunately the food turned out to be very average and underwhelming. the lasagne my husband chose was ok, but more than a little boring and the chicken and peppers pasta i chose was very disappointing, tasting of nothing but a generic tomato sauce from a jar. it was supposed to contain roasted peppers, but just had a few strips of mostly raw red & yellow pepper, the chicken was clearly just chunks of pre-cooked chicken that had been thrown in and the cream that was supposed to soften and enrichen the tomato sauce was non-existent - a very boring, basic and disappointing dish that i couldn't even summon up the enthusiasm to finish. we deceided to have desserts, but unfortunately these were no better, with the tiramisu being dry and clearly mass produced with an artificial flavour. all in all the meal was poor value for money and of generally low quality. we will NOT be returning to a branch of Prezzo any time soon

“Good food and atmosphere but service rather slow!”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

Decided to go for lunch at Prezzo Tring as a half-term treat for the family. We had made a reservation for 12.30.We were relieved to have made a reservation given that soon after we arrived, the restaurant filled up. I suspect that the restaurant did not expect to be so busy as they seemed to be rather short on staff, even though it is half-term The waitress took our drinks and food orders relatively promptly bu the food took ages. There was a mix up on the garlic bread and our children had finished theirs before ours arrived. Our main meals, once they arrived, were very good with excellent portion portion sizes, as was the chocolate brownie and delicious ice-cream. We do like this restaurant in terms of decor, atmosphere and choice of menus with reasonable prices. The children's activity sheet is excellent and Prezzo do what many restaurants fail to do which is to offer good quality food as well as being child-friendly. The slow service hasn't put us off, but it took the shine off what was a super family lunch.

“Good service & nice Pizza”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Went on Sunday night with tastecard, only realized when paying the bill card already expired on 7Oct. we both were embarrassed about it but the manager actually very nice & friendly, told us to obtain one over the phone from friend so we can get the 241 discount, and we did!! got the discount, hoorrray...

The Posh Pepperoni pizza was really good, lots of meats & spicy too. But not so good with the Spaghetti with lobsters, lots of spaghetti but only about 6 tiny pieces of lobsters & not much taste of pesto sauce but cream. wont bother order this ever again. Overall is good & we will be back again when we want a good pizza.

“Shame about the starter otherwise good”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Overall decent service in pleasant surroundings, nice and clean and reasonable prices. Children in the restaurant were amazingly well behaved so no screaming brats to cope with.
Sadly we had the bread board to share as a starter, best advice is to avoid... one piece with pesto and tomato was not too bad but the rest was awful, dry, dull and bland with very little flavour, cheese or garlic... and didn't seem very fresh... just two tiny saucers of vinegar and olive oil to dip in to but sadly not enough to rescue it. Although not traditional it was crying out for a knob of butter or some sardine paste, pate etc to give it some edibility..... I had to leave it ... the sort of dish that you wouldn't be allowed to serve to prisoners as it would breach their human rights... The pizza was great although the outer two inches were again dry and bare, they probably keep the crusts that people leave to serve as the bread course !!! The bit of the pizza that was covered was excellent with good toppings and lovely flavour..... advice is charge an extra 50p and cover all the pizza or make it smaller and cover all of it..... Top quality pud to follow.... 1 x choc fudge cake and 1 x cheesecake both excellent......
