Old hotel, but lovely and charming in character.. we arrived and tv was not working and within 15 mins the manager moved us to another room with flat screen tv, we were impressed, after going out for the day and most of the evening we returned at 9.45pm to find our bedroom was directly above the function room, the noise (base music) was awful, my hubby went and complained and after 1 hr i went down to see if it could be heard down at reception, on my journey i came across the manager who straight away accompanied me to my hotel room, he was flabbergasted at the noise and offered to move us, but it was too late now, then he offered us a bottle of wine to enjoy, but we both declined this aswell, he appologised . Maybe that's why rooms 23,24,25,26, were empty. Don't stay in these rooms if there is a function on... The music went off at 12.00 midnight and then we had a wonderful sleep. very nice manager and yes we would stay there again..

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms above the function room ..

My partner and I have just spent a very enjoyable weekend staying at the Talbot Hotel in Leominster. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble for them (we even left a mobile phone charger in our room, when checking out, and after noticing on our return to Bristol, called the hotel to check. The receptionis was fantastic, checked with the housekeeper, then called me back to say it had been found, and she was posting it on to us!).

Our room (11) was on the 2nd floor corner of the hotel, at the front, and had windows on each side which made it feel bright and roomy. It was well furnished, and the heating was perfect.

The bar/lounge area was very comfortable, with a well stoked bar offering a good range of wines, spirits, and real ales.
It also featured a large open log fire which was lovely and welcoming, particularly after a day spent in the cold wet weather we experienced!

The choice of breakfasts were extensive ranging from continental, full English, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, or smoked kippers and poached eggs etc etc - all prepared using tasty good quality ingredients!
We will definitely return, as this was a pefect base for touring around the surrounding area, and returning to the comfort of the cosy hotel.

Room Tip: If you dont mind being on the road side of the hotel chose corner room 11

A clean and comfortable hotel that has old English charm. Interior reflects it's history so don't expect ultra modern. Hotel has narrow winding stairs not suitable for disabled or those unable to climb stairs. Staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. Situated in the town centre amongst many shops that are reflective of old market towns a treasure that could be promoted more. Close by there are lots of quaint little villages and larger towns such as Hereford, Worcester and Ludlow is worth a visit. Not much for children here and is more suited to couples and groups.
Over all a really good base to explore this area and would definitely return.

Room Tip: There is a pub opposite that may cause noise although not personally experienced by myself.

The hotel is aged but clean. It would appear that the staff are there to do a job but very friendly with locals. If you stay at the front of the building you will find it noisy. The location is good for visiting the mid England and Wales.

Facilities such as the TV (especially the TV!) were badly in need of updating - not everything worked though we weren't in the room enough to make a fuss about it. However the place has a nice "feel" and is a lovely building, staff are friendly. Excellent location in the town centre, perfect for walking everywhere.

Its a long time since I slept in a bed with sheets and blankets or watched a CRT telly. The room, decorated circa 1960 style, was a reasonable size, but the shower room was 3' wide and 10' long. shower at one end, toilet at the other and sink in between. Having said all that, the room was clean and comfortable, the staff were wonderful and the food was excellent. Unfortunately bar meals are not served until 6.30 and the restaurant opens at 7pm, and we do like to eat a bit earlier. The hotel is made up of the original building and several others which have been incorporated over a couple of centuries, hence the odd lay out. It is a lovely place, full of character but does need some money spending on it. Leominster is a lovely place and a nice base from which to visit other areas. I would be happy to return.

Room Tip: ask if you can have a look at whats available.
