I have been here many times with both family and friends, we usually go upstairs as it is a much more pleasant atmosphere than the basic cafe downstairs. The staff are very friendly, will change the food if possible to suit individual taste and very good with children (maybe need more highchairs though!).
The food at first appears a little pricey but actually it is very good value for money as the food is good quality and plenty of it! Their cakes are to die for - check out their cheesecakes mmmmmmm.

The sandwiches here are immense! Big thick bread, brimming with filling, gorgeous choices, Christmas sandwich is very yummy. If you don't have time to sit down to enjoy your chosen sarnie with a cup of tea or coffee then fear not, they're usually made to order, take away and one is enough to fill any greedy appetite.

A rare day off yesterday in Leominster, and I thought we would try somewhere different than our usual haunts. I haven't been to the Flying Dutchman for a few years, but inside nothing much had changed. We went up to the upper floor, which is more of a cafeteria restaurant and less of a greasy spoon than downstairs. Staff were friendly and prices were reasonable. £1.15 for a pot of tea is very good value, even if the tea itself is cheap catering tea-bag tea ( many other places charge more for the same ). Coffee is also good here, and also very reasonably priced with a small cappuccino from £1.55. Service comes with many smiles and helpful comments. That is kind of where the good news stops however. Clearly it had been busy and a number of the tables were still dirty and covered with crumbs. My New York Sandwich was ok, but the accompanying chips could have done with cooking for longer. My wife's Greek Salad was more of a disappointment, and was covered in a honey mustard dressing , that lacked a certain 'greekness'. All in all it was ok, but I would probably not go back and head instead for the Granary or Savory's on Broad Street. The take-away sandwiches which we passed on the way out still look wonderful and are also very reasonably priced, and I think that this remains the Flying Dutchman's best feature.

I have been here many times with family, and with friends. I generally go upstairs as I love the more chic atmosphere! The staff are very friendly, will make food to serve your needs, and the food is just yummy! The menu may appear slightly pricer than others but the portions are huge so offer good value for money!
The cakes are all home made and i have never tasted such wonderful cakes, particularly the Banoffe pie (heaven).
The only negative is the hand dryer in the ladies toilet is cold and hand drying is a long drawn out affair!
