This was our third visit to the Dukes Head. It could not be described as palatial, but it does offer excellent value for money. I ordered a sirloin steak cooked to my request ( rare ) but the garnish of tomato ( overcooked ) and grilled mushroom ( not cooked at all ) could be improved. The place was very busy for a Tuesday lunch time, featuring a wide assortment of customers.
And last but not least - the toilets were clean !

Good food, service, prices and staff. Lovely decor and not rowdy. There was a good mix of age groups and a really friedly atmosphere.

In my opinion its what you would expect for the price you pay, friendly staff and good food served hot and in a reasonable time , a great place to eat quite cheaply as a family

Visited the dukes on many occasions and are starting to wonder why I bother. Drinks and food always run out or they can't be bothered to change barrel as it is supposedly day to clean pipes. Coffee also not on due to cleaning at 9 pm. What's the point in staying open and serving food so late. Gourmet burger is very fatty and chips are of the reconstituted kind. If you want a soulless place than this is for you

We come here roughly once a month for a "treat", in the financial climate it is nice to go out with the kids and have food cooked for you. The food and staff are regularly reliable and very obliging, it is located in a former Post Office so it has been really tastefully decorated keeping the old character of the place as much as possible. The meals including a drink are really good value for money and we have never been disappointed. Compared to other Wetherspoons this is definitely one of the better ones.
