“Excellent 3* Hotel.”

Went on a deal to this hotel. John the Proprietor came and greeted us on arrival.Like others we were shown the spa and swiming pool & gym facilites. Our room was very spacious, cleanand was nice to see a decent sized TV (not that we used it) and not one perched on the edge of a table.! this is for ladies really, I always take my "Old faithfull" hairdryer with me,( even though some hotels do supply them) and the bonus of this hotel, was that I could actually plug "Old Faithfull" in a socket right next to the dressing table and mirror, and not 5miles away from the mirror.!! The swiming pool also is a decent size, and not one that you do 5 strokes across and 5 strokes down.! the Gym looked excellent.so did the steam rooms. we had a meal in the evening there, again cannot fault anything. I must add, that 2 of my weakness,s are Creme Brulee and Sticky Toffee Pud. well I chose the Sticky Toffee Pud, oh boy, it was fab. the best I,ve had for say over 2years of tasting them in various establishments.! the sauce. oh was great. we then had coffee in their garden. I honestly cannot fault this hotel, in both service and facilities. it is a 3* hotel, and lives up to its grading. would recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: We had room no9, which had a four-poster in. it was spacious, and to be truthful, the only time i wo...

We stayed on a kgb deal. 26th. July the staff are very friendly the room was nice with a double bed. And a single bed the single bed was broken so I hope this as since been rectified the bathroom was lovely and clean and towels large and soft the evening meal which we booked for the fist night and which was supposed tobe on some sort of deal was dreadfuland we certainly. Didn't want a second evening meal there. Fish and chip shop near hotel was a second nights choice of meal and that meal was lovely breakfast was okay but I have had better but the young man who served us on the Sundays morning was very polite and welcoming.the spa pool and sauna jacuzzi were lovely although steam room wasn't in operation on our first day the bedroom floorboards are very squeaky and in fairness the hotel was noisy so sleep was broken if another kgb deal came up I may stay again but wouldn't be having evening meals.

We recently stayed for the weekend and had an enjoyable time. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and were even escorted to our room and given a brief tour of facilities which we thought was a nice touch rather than just being pointed in the general direction of your room and left to your own devices to find it.
The staff were pleasant and friendly at all times and the service given was excellent.
Our room was large with an equally spacious bathroom with a bath and excellent shower. The room as well as the rest of the hotel was spotless and well maintained.
Breakfast was of excellent quality and piping hot, we ate in the bar on one night and were happy with the meals we chose.
We made use of the adjoining spa facility, my wife had a treatment, and we both made good use of the pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, all of which were free to use and towels were provided.
We visited two similar establishments in Kington whilst staying there and we would thoroughly recommend the hotel above the others.

This is the second year I have organised a 2 night golf break for 16 ladies at this friendly, comfortable hotel and once again the reception staff were wonderfully efficient and organised our golf and room requirements superbly.
Everyone, without exception, was delighted with the standard of accommodation, excellent food, and friendly service. Rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped and the staff could not have done any more for us. Every room is different and maybe a couple of rooms have small disadvantages, like some traffic noise (those on the front, in the early morning) and curtains not being able to be drawn due to the secondary glazing but this was not a major problem and was far outweighed by the value for money and location to shops etc. The three course dinners were superb and serving 16 at one time was a task easily accomplished by the well trained and courteous staff. After golf, the beautiful pool and spa were very welcoming and some of us enjoyed the leisurely stroll down to the shops. Being fortunate with the weather, it was nice to sit in the charming garden after dinner. John and his staff are to be congratulated on creating such a relaxing haven. We have already booked our stay for next year.

As previous reviewers have said what stands out at this hotel is the staff. They are efficient, friendly and exceptional at their jobs. The pool was especially lovely as we visited in the heat wave. Plenty of parking. My only gripe was our room and that you couldn't open the window and have the curtains closed due to the secondary glazing. The room was on the front of the hotel and was very noisy from the road and people shouting in the street at 230am!
The restaurant food was excellent well cooked and presented.

What can I say except fabulous we booked a two night break at the Burton and did not regret it.
All the staff were very friendly and willing to do anything asked of them without being intrusive.
Whoever is responsible for training the staff deserves great praise.
As a training manager I know how important staff training is.
The spa staff were equally helpful. We relaxed in the Spa area on both days it was a treat. This hotel is in a small village and not the country side so there is plenty to do. The breakfast was very good and you knew you could ask for more if you wanted it. Bar meals were also excellent and could be taken in the bar or the dinning room which was a nice touch. Even if you are not a golfer please visit Kington golf club the highest golf course in England the views are stunning and the welcome from the members was fantastic. You can walk around the course but please give the golfers the right of way and you will not have any problems. Do carry on past the club house to get even better views. The staff at the golf club will happily serve you with food and drinks.

Thank you John,Annabel and Jack for making our stay so lovely. The location is so good and being central to town helps. We stayed on a KGB deal which offered superb value. The food on offer is excellent, quality and quantity.
