Had a lovely stay with the KGB deal. Staff excellent. Agree shower needs time to warm up but worth the wait. The food is good if you are a hungry person portions huge. For us it would have been better to use the bar menu as we could not manage the 2 courses. Cloud nine spa is fab, it is well worth booking a treatment in advance with Jessica, she does a fantastic massage and facial.

Room Tip: Take care if you are over 6 foot on the top floor you can bang your head on the room doors!!!

We stayed with a KGB voucher for 2 nights. The staff were fab rght from the off, friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower was fab - once it warmed up (took a couple of minutes). Breakfast was good with a great selection of 'starters' and a cooked breakfast made to order. We ate there both nights, mainly as we didn't realise the other restaurants/pubs in the village did not serve food on Sunday evenings. We chose from the bar menu on the first night, the mixed grill was excellent value and perfectly cooked but I had to send my undercooked scampi back - it was changed with no question and the barman couldn't apologise enough. The restaurant meals were slightly more expensive but well cooked and presented. My starter was a little cold but my main - steak and calves liver was lovely. The desserts were huge and very indulgent :)
I'd recommend the hotel and spa - I even hit the gym before breakfast! I'd take walking gear though, we didn't and I wish we had now as there wasn't much else to do - Hereford is only a 40 min drive away though so we did mange to get in a bit of shopping...

The hotel is good & value for money for the amount paid. The room was very clean & spacious including the en suite. The bed was definitely comfier than mine at home! Breakfast included was ok, but nothing more. The spa was lovely & looks like new, with free access to the pool, sauna & steam which was perfect. There are a few exercise machines to use in the gym & some CV machines, but who wants to workout on a weekend away! The only downside is that there isn't anything to do or anywhere to go for a drink with some atmosphere, so take good company!

After finding a KGB deal we had a weekend trip at the Burton hotel, mostly to use the spa facilitities and relax. Found the town itself to be charming but very sleepy so spent a lot of time in the hotel itself and and in doing so found every staff member we came across; wether it be at reception, the bar, restaurant, room service or gym to be so friendly and helpful. I think a very rare find in that respect and although our room was very nice (clean, tidy and lots of thoughtful touches etc) and the facilities were a very good standard, it was the customer service at this hotel that we thought was its shining feature and made our stay very enjoyable. So thank you to all the staff, especially Jack at reception who went out of his way to help me find my phone when I was leaving!

Thank you for enthusiastic comments about our staff during your stay..Son jack joined the family business last year and you never know how good or bad a decision it is, until much later on .His passion for gadgets seemed to have been well appreciated here, as he somehow managed to identify the whereabouts of your phone to within 10 feet via apple cyber space.

we hope to see you again in the future

We stayed here on the 29th Dec on our way to Brecon we had a family room which was very clean and a spotless bathroom and had plenty of room.
On arrival we were met with a nice smile and a tour of the hotel and spa then back to reception were we were helped with our bags to our room. Not many places do that now.
We used The bar which we found very pleasant with a good selection of beers etc and friendly banter with the bar man.

We unfortunately decided to eat out a request from our daughter she wanted Chinese big mistake do not use the only Chinese in Kington not very nice at all.

We had a great breakfast even though it was lacking black pudding LOL was still very nice indeed.

The spa/ pool is fantastic we spent a lot of hours in there and it's very very clean.

Would be return oh yes very good value for money and very friendly

A big thank you to all staff at the burton

i stayed here on business last week with colleagues. Excellent value, ideal location for where we were working, food was gorgeous, staff were amazingly welcoming. There is a lovely "family" feel to the hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I would have absolutely no hesitation in staying here again.
