This cottage feels very homely and relaxing, but also historical with very interesting features and characteristics. It is generally well-equipped and also a convenient location being a few minutes walk from the centre of the town.
It is on a fairly busy road, although that did not seem to impose. There are lots of places to visit, more convenient if you have a car. We very much enjoyed the local small breeds farm and the surrounding market towns.
We enjoyed staying here and would recommend it.
The Medlar is a delightful old cottage with plenty of character. It is centrally located in Kington and there are many interesting walks from here in amazing countryside with outstanding views.
Everything in the house works and the patio is a good space for sitting out to enjoy a drink. The cottage is set in the middle of Kington which has a maze of footpaths in and around the town waiting to be explored. Best place we found to eat in Kington was the Swan, good food and service with welcoming staff. The Tram at Eardisley did a great Sunday lunch.Hergest gardens a delight.
WOW, what an AMAZING cottage. Quirky, quaint and quintessential. A most comfortable and spacious cottage filled with homely touches, from the beautifully equipped kitchen to all the games, books etc. Haven't met or spoken to hosts but their attention to detail ensures that your stay is perfect. Would definitely love to stay here again and would highly recommend it. Apparently the area is very well situated for walks and sightseeing but we are here for a rest and are quite happy to stay in this beautiful cottage.
The Medlar is a charming property, with the historical features and modern facilities carefully and tastefully blended. It is comfortable and well equipped whilst respectful of its heritage. The locality is perfect for walkers, garden lovers, couples or families. The nearby village of Pembridge is well worth a visit as are the gardens at Westonbury Mill and Hergest Croft. The latter being within walking distance at the foot of the Offa’s Dyke walk
