After having spent a weekend at the Manor of Groves (which was excellent) , it was my partners birthday over the Easter weekend so we thought we would try the sister hotel Shendish Manor. The grounds were beautiful but unfortunately spoilt by glasses and bottles left around the trees and bushes. We were looking forward to dinner but the menu was uninspiring and both main courses were overcooked; thankfully breakfast was great. The staff were friendly, but overall we were disappointed. And to cap it all we were overcharged when checking out.
As for the golf - for the first 6 holes the fairways not good - covered in daisies and dandelions.Although there was a notice outside the clubhouse about golf attire and etiquette - this was non existant on the course. Play was slow, not letting faster players through and 'golfers' playing in jeans and trainers.
