“Spot the famous person”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

This place is situated in a very green part of London. On the outskirts based in Hertfordshire this little gem is within acrea of Land and is Luxury Estate Hotel in the countryside. Beautiful gardens, glamorous location, beautiful building.

We went here for my bf's sisters 30th birthday. It was open buffet. The food was yummy, choice was slightly limited compared to many buffets I have been to but delicious nonetheless. The cocktails were well made, tasty and really packed a punch!

One thing that made my heart drop is as we entered we found out we just missed Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher!!! I was so sad they left just as we went in though had we come through the main entrance (we went through the garden as the estate was so huge we were abit lost!) we would have bumped into them. Wouldn't that have been an amazing moment!

The grove is known as a celebrity haven. In an isolated outskirt location many London visiting celebrities choose to get away from paparazzi by staying here. One of my bf friends had their wedding here and were congratulated personally at their room after their dinner by Tom cruise! Wowser.

Everything was lovely. My only complaints are minor but definately need to be considered. The first was the service was very slow. We were buffet dining so all that we had to wait for were drinks, but when requesting a cocktail it took 2 courses for it to arrive. My partner ordered an orange juice and waited 30 mins before reminding them. His sister ordered a cocktail, when dinner was over there were still no signs of it arriving. Its a real shame because when they did arrive they were delicious. It wasn't very busy and it was a buffet so I was surprised about the lack of attentiveness of staff.

The other was the spoiler effect of the Happy birthday dessert. They gave a cake on a decorated plate and neereesa was very happy saying it was very sweet of them to think of her. when we went to dine at the dessert table we then saw stacks of Happy birthday ready decorated plates.

Now I am not saying its not good to prepare but they should at least keep them hidden, it definately spoils the birthday girl or boys perception of being thought of and treated when their just a number.

Other than that it was lovely. I hear the spa and hotel is lovely too so maybe one day i could afford to stay their!

“Had afternoon drinks and Sunday breakfast”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Breakfast excellent, afternoon drinks possibly the worst I've ever paid for, two requirements for Hot Chocolate. Well, it was chocolate, and lets be generous and say it might not have been from a sachet. But Hot? I have doubts as to whether it had seen heat on the same day! Grrr

“Wonderful place to dine”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

We celebrated my husbands birthday with family and friends. The restaurant was fully booked but still very comfortably relaxed. We had a huge selection of food to choose from and it was all beautifully presented & prepared. We could eat as much as we liked and this also included food that could be selected and cooked to order. We loved all the food we ate ( and we ate lots !! ) but at no time were we hurried or pressured into making food selection. We could choose roasted meat selection & veg, stir fry cooked to order/oriental,Spanish tapas,Italian and a great seafood area.We especially loved the dessert station which had every dessert imaginable and the only problem we encountered was not having enough room left in our stomaches to finish them all ! The meal from start to finish was a delight and managed to cater to every one of our parties needs. The service was faultless. The drinks are expensive but we budgeted for this when booking to dine here so it wasn't a problem. This was a great place to dine for a special occasion. We have dined here a few times now and never been disappointed. We will be returning again soon!

“Great food & excellent service”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

We had the buffet dinner on a Wednesday night and the food was amazing (also £10 cheaper than a Friday or Saturday). We got there as soon as the restaurant opened at 7pm which was a great shout as the small serving area can get a little busy when a few larger tables arrive for dinner. You can choose between Spanish tapas, sea food, salad, roast dinner, curry, freshly cooked noodles and dessert. Whilst the selections were small the food was delicious and service was excellent. Would highly recommend a visit.
