“The most perfect family accommodation we could have chosen.”
Reviewed February 9, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Having stayed at The Hyde, on the same estate three years ago in June 2013, we knew we were in for a treat at "The Fweeff "as our two year old grandson kept calling it. We were not disappointed. It was the addition of an indoor pool that made us choose it for a February weekend and it was perfect.
We were celebrating Poppa-Boo's 70th birthday. Nine adults and 8 children ranging from 16 to 2 years of age. There was something for everyone from the perfectly equipped playroom for the little ones to the pool- room, wifi &, games for the teenagers. Our children catered for us in the perfectly designed kitchen with its AGA, subsidiary ovens and two dishwashers, apart from Saturday evening when James and Monica created a perfect meal and looked after our every need. Wonderful!
We had the bonus of good weather and enjoyed a long walk on the Saturday, admiring glorious views and stunning banks of snowdrops. A friendly neighbour even gave the little ones a lift back up the last leg of our muddy walk back in his trailer. This was a great hit, coupled with the fact that the local hunt passed through just above us. A great sight!
We could not fault the house itself with Peta's perfect taste and thoughtfulness of design. We wanted for nothing and have already recommended it to family and friends. We will be back!

Reviewed January 6, 2017 for a stay in September 2016

Absolutely fantastic weekend our family had at the Freeth to celebrate my special birthday. Facilities and comfort and furnishings are all top rate. Attention to detail very good. Very helpful, polite staff who go welll beyond normal expectations to make your stay as good as possible. Catering provided was very good, as was the laser tag arranged in the garden. Could not fault anything. A fabulous time was had by all. Many thanks to everyone involved. Another bug bonus dogs are welcome

“Ideal place to spend Christmas with the family”
Reviewed January 6, 2017 for a stay in December 2016

The Freeth is simply superb. We had a wonderful stay there over Christmas and enjoyed every moment. The house is beautiful, each room is decorated with a real eye for design. The house was warm and cosy which was ideal for Christmas. We spent our days walking around the estate, climbing trees, getting muddy and eating lots. The swimming pool and games rooms were brilliant for adults and kids. Meal times were very easy around the huge dining table. The kitchen is really well equipped and we cooked large family meals (there were 17 of us and a baby). There are lovely touches for families, such a the playroom which is stocked with fantastic toys and books and our children happily played in for hours. The Freeth is really an exceptional property and we feel very lucky to have found it.

We are very pleased that you enjoyed the hen weekend and thought that the house was such a high standard. It is at the end of no-through lane which means there is no traffic, lots of walks on the doorstep and wonderful views of unspoilt countryside, yet is still only a 10 minute drive from the nearest market town.

“We found it hard to leave”

We stayed at The Freeth for a weekend in September to celebrate a family birthday. There were 16 of us; 14 adults and 2 toddlers and we all wanted to stay forever. The 3 year old keeps asking when he can go back to his holiday home!

The house is beautiful and the grounds are stunning. We were a little concerned having two toddlers that we might spend the weekend moving precious items out of the way but we didn't need to worry. Throughout the house, everything is sturdy and homely but still presented with such style. Bedrooms 3 and 4 are perfectly set up for a family with young children and the playroom was a great delight for the children.

The grounds are extensive; so lovely long walks. The indoor pool was great and the pool table above came in very useful too. Outside we played badminton, swing ball and giant jenga, amongst others.

Inside the layout of the house allows for people to find space for themselves. The formal sitting room was great for our pre dinner drinks and charades afterwards. Whilst the large TV room was great for relaxing. The dining room really does seat 18 comfortable and with it being oval is really conducive for inclusive conversation.

The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and furnished, giving the feel of a 5 star hotel, but nicer. Rooms can be made up to accommodate different sleeping arrangements and as with everything we asked for, nothing was too much trouble.

With birthdays to celebrate we hired James and Monika to cater for us for dinner on the Saturday evening and for brunch on the Sunday. It made the celebrations so relaxed as we could leave everything to them. They brought all the goodies, prepped, cooked, set the table, served and tidied up afterwards and all with the biggest smiles; I would highly recommend them.

Peta and Louisa were so helpful right from the initial booking. They couldn't do enough to make our stay more special and we thank them for that. There was a lovely gift on our arrival and we were made to feel so welcome that we felt at home straight away. We really didn't want to leave!

“Wow fantastic place”
Reviewed September 25, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We had an amazing time. The house was wonderful, so spacious and the kitchen was the best equipped one I have ever rented. The house keeping staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and we had an enormous chocolate cake left for us as well as a hamper of goodies. The owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome, popping in to see if we had everything we needed. There were four generations all together and the house was suitable for everyone. The pool was fantastic and so was the games room, providing us with lots of things to do. We had a superb time, one of the highlights being the three meals cooked by chef James who lives on the estate, rent this house you won't regret it.
