lovely location, food was excellent, service was top notch and after hunting about for quite sometime in the area for a suitable place to fill our faces after a days exploration in the area this was just the ticket....only gripe the car park is a bit pot hole bitten

And at pub prices. Look for home-made items which are thoughtfully listed on the menu. We had
lasagne which has organic beef and it shows; also a good use of cheese. Plenty of vegetarian options. Sit outside in the lovely garden and enjoy the setting sun as we did. Or sit inside and suffer the bad musak - the reason for an "average" grading and why we will return but only when the weather is clement.

We went to our usual B&B "Littlebridge" who recommended trying the Royal Oak on the downs at Bromyard. We phoned from home on the Thursday and went at 7pm on the Friday evening 10th August.
I had Sirloin Steak well done and wife had Gammon with trimmings. I had Ice Cream afterwards.
Everything was well cooked and well served by competent staff who were really pleasant with us and other diners.
So impressed, we booked a table for the Saturday evening 11th August as well, and enoyed our meals then also.
I think this must have changed hands in recent times as we had been there a few years ago and frankly we did n't like it then. But we would recommend it now, good value for money as well as good food. The garden is nice, and seems to be well maintained and there is outdoor seating for fine weather dining.

We called in one Sunday evening with friends who were staying in a B&B nearby. We'd all had an excellent lunch out and our friends fancied a cream tea although it was close on 7.00 pm, when tea shops had long since closed. We really expected mine host to say sorry but they were now only serving evening meals but, in a very short time, he produced a cream tea which would have done justice to any decent cafe.

Full marks for good food and excellent service.
