“Beautiful Sunset”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

We happened upon this site as the sun was going down -- it's well worth a visit! Easy parking, beautiful setting, perfect photographic opportunity to capture a sunset. We'll definitely return.

“Interesting and informative visit.”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Good value day out in a lovely location in the New Forest.
Enjoyed the Museum and the insight in to what it was like for the skilled and unskilled workers who built the many ships used by the Navy in the conflicts of the time, and the part the ships played in the Battle of Trafalger. The video was informative, However, the quality of picture was extremely poor--think it had something to do with the contrast. Brought to the attention of staff. Agreed with my comment. However was not sorted.
The sail on the River was very good.

“Nice place for a stroll”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

I have visited numerous times but always in daylight, so I can't comment on the reviewer who mentioned a crime problem. The wild life can be a bit pushy if you try to feed them. In summer the ice cream man is often there. Lovely walks, situated in the New Forest. Not really an attraction as it is "common ground".

“An unexpected dam in New Forest heathland”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

This is a bow-shaped pond of about 7-10 acres at the junction of the B3054 and the B3055 west of Beaulieu. It appears to have been formed by a dam along which the B3054 now runs. It is attractive and an ideal spot to picnic, walk dogs, view New Forest grazing animals (there are usually ponies and often a herd of donkeys nearby), and feed the ducks and swans.

“Great for adults, kids and dogs!”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

This was one of my dog's favourite walks/swims when she was alive and it's always lovely to drive past it now and reminisce!

There are always ponies and donkeys in the area and in the summer an ice-cream van visits. A quiet little oasis away from the usual tourist traps of the Forest. For visitors and locals alike.
