We visited this hotel for lunch when visiting Beaulieu. On arrival we were welcomed and given a lovely table by the windows with views of the ambling donkeys wandering around!

The food was lovely, a real surprise. Very fresh and tasty, and friendly professional service. Also not hugely expensive which was also a surprise given the grandeur of the hotel.

The restaurant and bar are slightly separate to the hotel meaning you don't feel as if you need to be staying in the hotel to eat here.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for taking the time to review your visit to Monty’s our warm and welcoming family Inn at the Montagu Arms Hotel.

I am pleased to hear that you were able to experience the live entertainment provided by the local donkeys from the comfort of your window table in Monty’s Restaurant.

The donkeys along with the horses and cows are very much part and parcel of village life here in Beaulieu with the front of the hotel being one of their preferred meeting places!

Whilst Monty’s Inn dining is a much less formal affair here our aim is to make it every bit as memorable as our Michelin Star Terrace Restaurant dining. Monty’s Head Chef puts immense thought and effort into creating well balanced menus using locally sourced and very seasonal produce whilst at the same time ensuring that it appeals to all tastes and budgets.

Thank you for your comment over the service which you received. Monty’s Team are trained to deliver a very professional/personal service to our guests and I am thrilled to hear this is being achieved.

Although Monty’s Inn has its’ very own entrance it is every bit as unique in its’ own special way as the hotel itself. Monty’s outside seating area is the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by when the weather permits.

I look forward to Welcoming you back again as soon.

We had our wedding at the Montagu Arms at the beginning of January 2014 and I really can't recommend the hotel highly enough. The staff were all brilliant - they were always available but unobtrusive. Everything was organised so well and all went really smoothly on the day itself - most of it was done without you even realising anything was being done eg setting up the room for the wedding breakfast and so on. It all felt very relaxed and unhurried at the same time as everything running to plan. The food was lovely - the best I've ever had at a wedding and didn't suffer from any of the usual issues that you might get elsewhere when lots of plates are sent out at once. The staff can't do enough to help you and there are lots of little touches and attention to detail which just finish things off. Our room was one of the suites which was clean and very nice. The morning afterwards we had coffee etc after breakfast with some of the wedding guests who'd stayed at the hotel and others who had come to join us and again the staff were brilliant, there was no sense of us being rushed at all. I didn't really have any doubts when booking the wedding that the day itself would go well as the staff are always so good there and you feel reassured that even if there was a problem, it would be dealt with - not that there was - and I am so pleased we did get married there. It made a wonderful day even more so and I just can't fault anything about it - if anyone is thinking about booking a wedding there I wouldn't hesitate!

Room Tip: A suite is worth spending extra money for

Dear Guest,

I never under estimate the time and effort taken by our guests to enter a review on Trip Advisor and I would like to thank you so very much for yours, especially as you feel we made you day perfect in every way.

Our aim from the moment a Wedding is booked through the Montagu Arms Hotel is to offer first class service through the meticulous planning leading up to and including your Big Day, leaving you to relax and not worry.

We have several different options for bridal suites at the hotel and we feel this is down to personal taste therefore do not claim to have a designated ‘Bridal Suite’ as such.

I am equally delighted that your breakfast the following morning was something for you and your guests to sit back and enjoy. The team are trained to a very high standard not to make our guests feel rushed, whether attending a celebration like your Wedding Day, A la carte dining, or simply starting the day with one of our made to order New Forest Marque Breakfasts.

Your recommendation is truly something which I appreciate more than words can say and I hope that you will return soon.

The only hotel I have stayed in that served a hot breakfast on a cold plate. We had stayed overnight after a wedding reception. We were disapointed about breakfast after the excellent meal at the reception. Room was a bit tired.

Dear Guest,
I am very sorry to learn of your disappointment over your breakfast and must assure you that this really is not to the usual standards of service at the Montagu Arms Hotel.

I have raised your comments with Pierre – Rizet Mosser the Restaurant Manager who also sends his personal apologies over the fact that your breakfast was not served on warm plates on this occasion.

Pierre has personally addressed this issue with the team to ensure this oversight is not repeated as this is certainly not consistent with the standards expected from a Michelin Star Restaurant.

However I am delighted with your very positive feedback of the Wedding Breakfast.

We have an ongoing annual maintenance programme which is fully underway now at the hotel for 2014 to refresh and update all the bedrooms which have not yet been refurbished. I am sorry to hear that you found your particular bedroom to be a bit tired looking.

Thank you for taking the time to air your disappointments along with your positive feedback, which in the process helps me to continually improve on our standards and service.

We stayed at this Hotel for the first weekend in Jan 2014 for two nights. The welcome by the staff was lovely and the room was outstanding ( Room 3/4 Suite).
Dinner was also included for the stay in The Terrace restaaurant which already has a Michelin star and is worthy of another in my opinion. We were asked at the time of booking if there were any dietry requests and these were adhered to and the dining staff assured us on both evenings that the kitchen was aware also.
Even though this was the wettest period in living memory this did not spoil our weekend by visiting the Beaulieu Motor museum and Palace on the saturday and getting in a nice long walk on the sunday.

The suite we booked was excellent, large kingsize four poster bed with two bathrooms and a separate lounge TV room. The room also overlooked the gardens and decking and l can imagine in the summer would be wonderful.
Both my partner and l commented on the friendly, courteous staff, who when on the sunday morning when checking out,did not panic when the whole hotel was plunged into darkness due to a local power cut. They calmly went about thee hotel lighting candles everywhere which only added to the charm of the hotel.
Well worth a treat to yourselves

Room Tip: Room 3/4 is a suite but can be turned into twwo separate rooms sleeping four

Your review of the Montagu Arms Hotel was an absolute pleasure and delight to read.
I am especially thrilled to read that even with weather outside being a little wet to say the least that your stay was not in anyway ruined.

We are indeed very fortunate to have so much to do right on our doorstep, with the very famous Beaulieu’s National Motor Museum being our immediate neighbour.

Thank you for your great comments about your bedroom. Our many various room types are aimed to suit personal requirements and budgets. Although bedroom 3/4 – ‘Ash’ is one of our four poster suites it is easy to see by viewing our bedroom gallery online that each and every one of our bedrooms (all en suite) are just as luxurious.

I am truly delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your whole dining experience in our Terrace Restaurant and your excellent feedback of the service which you received. These lovely comments have been passed onto Head Chef Matthew Tomkinson and Restaurant Manager – Pierre Rizet-Moser.

Matthew would like to send his personal thanks to you for your very valued opinion about the food. Matthew likes to make full use of his larder (the New Forest) with its abundance of the highest quality New Forest local producers with special dietary requirements never being a problem.
I am so thrilled to hear that your stay was so memorable and that you will return as soon as your time permits when you will find your Welcome will be as unforgettable as your very first visit.

We stayed at this hotel on New Years Eve and I have to say the welcoming we had from Sunil, Mel and Pierre was very warming. We were even welcomed with a nice glass of mulled wine which was a lovely touch being so cold outside. We even had afternoon tea with sandwiches.

The suite we stayed in was beautiful and overlooked the front of the hotel and had a big separate lounge to relax in.

The hotel itself is in a small village called Beaulieu and is beautiful and quaint with open fires and the staff are very friendly and helpful. As it was New Year's Eve we had a champagne and canapé reception to start the evening off followed by a 5 course meal with entertainment to bring the New Year in. The restaurant I have to say is one our favourite places out of all the hotels we have have eaten in and it was a truly a lovely evening.

We stayed with our families at this hotel for our daughter's wedding and cannot rate it highly enough. The food was first class and the staff cannot do enough for you. They are polite, friendly and unobstructive. The rooms are very comfortable and when we requested our rooms be ready far ahead of time, they were happy to oblige. We have had afternoon tea at the hotel on numerous occasions and have always been welcomed and treated with the utmost courtesy. The food is unfailingly delicious and the staff try their hardest to oblige you in every way. Our daughter's wedding was a marvellous occasion and we can only praise the hotel for giving our families the wedding of our dreams. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Room Tip: The superior rooms with larger beds are worth spending more for!

We stayed at the Montagu Arms for one night as part of a short stay in the New Forest between Christmas and New Year. We had passed by the hotel a couple of times before and so we decided to stay. We are so glad we did. The room was beautifully presented and spotless. Considering the age of the building the decoration and upkeep of the hotel was first class. So was the welcome we received. Our case was carried to our room, the furthest one from reception we discovered. The views across the water were stunning. The room had everything we needed. We had booked a meal at Monty's Inn which was fantastic. High quality food and service. Breakfast was plentiful and again the service was exemplary. Our only disappointment was we had only booked one night. We shall return.
