Owner description: In the heart of the glorious New Forest, Beaulieu is one of the South's top visitor attractions. Here you will find the National Motor Museum, home to over 250 vehicles telling the history of motoring. You can also visit Palace House and Gardens, home of the Montagu family since 1538, the remains of Beaulieu Abbey and World of Top Gear where you can see some of the vehicles from Jeremy, James and Richard's most ambitious challenges. Ride on the high level Monorail or climb aboard the replica 1912 open top London bus for a fun way to see Beaulieu's sights.

Visited as a late-teenager and now back as a parent almost 20 years later

Seemed less cars than before but perhaps due to the new Bond exhibition taking up that space? Top Gear area is good. Family quiz useful in engaging attention of 7 year old son. Shame can't get inside cars a bit more like used to be able to. Wheels is good although could do with an update! Also the voice was out of sync with where our car was. Monorail advertises a Beaulieu bubbly from vineyard which we thought would make a nice present for someone only to be told by shop staff that the voice over is out of date and no longer sell it!

House and grounds were a highlight as were the old fashioned kids games they could try

Food - awful! Raw chips and soft batter. We did query whether the chips were cooked when put on the plate but the 'server' tasted and said they were - that doesn't instill much confidence! When we complained they did rectify it by offering us a refund and the lady in charge was very apologetic

Would we return? Perhaps one day when we are grandparents.

Whatever age you are you will find a great day out at Beaulieu ride on the vintage busses or ride the monorail to the stately home which is well worth a look at and when you have finished all that have a look in the Top Gear exhibition and see all the mad cars the boys have made over he years

I had always avoided this when down in this part of the country because I thought it would be dull. Not so. Managed to entertain 5 teenagers all day and the adults had fun too. There's so much to see and do that we were still there at closing time! The motor museum is superb and there is a Bond exhibition and hilarious Top Gear section at the moment. In addition the abbey, house and grounds were beautiful. The staff at the house we warm and welcoming and there was a fabulously entertaining and knowledgeable man doing a falconry display too. It really does deserve the accolade of 'Best Large Visitor Attraction 2013.' We booked online for a better ticket price. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Considering how much you get too see for what you pay to get in, I think it's great. I loved the falconry, the house and the Mill Pond Walk and my hubby loved all the cars. Took a picnic and we were there from 10am til 5pm. Lovely day.

Spent bank holiday Sunday at both the motor museum and then Bucklers Hard for a picnic, the motor museum was very good as we had not been there for over 20 years (in fact my husband proposed to me in the queue that day). There was so much more to see than then and we enjoyed seeing all the old vehicles and some that we both remembered either driving or owning.
Bucklers Hard was as lovely as always especially watching the boats going up and down the river whilst enjoying our picnic and a bottle of very nice red wine
