10% off cost of food if staying at adjacent Travelodge. Not given automatically, we had to ask. Staff very friendly, service was a little slow as they only had one chef on at that time and the place was very busy.

We stop here for coffee and bacon bloomers on our way from home to Bournemouth and Poole. I can honestly say the staff are fantastic, we have visited when it has been having and very quiet and the staff seem to know what service is all about. The bread is always fresh and the bacon cooked perfectly and lots of it.
It is always clean even though the resturant and toilets are old

4 of us were looking forward to our mugs of tea/coffee and a good, hearty breakfast, after a great night out on New Year's Eve.
We weren't disappointed! We all met @ 10.00, with muzzy heads. Teas/coffees were offered before we took our time choosing the many choices of breakfast combinations.
Different days offer special breakfast rates. We opted for the Early Starter, which was enough of everything, but not too much. Mushrooms/black pudding can be offered too. Our friend opted for the Olympic Breakfast, with 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausages and 2 eggs. He ate it all, but thought that he would have to climb it!
Customers of all ages soon flowed in, filling up the restaurant, out from the cold, wet and windy weather.
The service was great, quality of food was good too. A great start to the day of a New Year.

I have eaten here a few times in the past and can totally understand some of the poor reviews they've been given. There has usually been just one desperately overworked woman (always the same one who somehow always managed to remain polite) trying to do everything front of house with one other member of staff doing the cooking. The quality of the food has always been what I'd expect - ie good cafe level, it's not a gourmet restaurant - but the service has been very slow and the food hasn't always made it to the table before getting cold. On my recent visit though there were several people serving and, presumably, more working in the kitchen. The atmosphere was much lighter, service was friendly and prompt, tables were cleared as people left - major, major improvements all round. Let's hope they keep it up.
