Looking at the other reviews for this cafe/coffee shop I think I either went when they were having a bad day, or I was in a different place!
I visited this cafe for the first time with my son (19) on Tuesday 12th March at about 10.30am.
First of all, I really like the decor and layout of the shop, the menu but looks nice, and the place is very inviting. It was fairly busy but there were two tables free so we sat in the window.
Unfortunately, although there were at least three staff on duty, it was a good 8-10 minutes before anyone came to take out order. I asked for coffee and walnut cake and latte, and my son wanted belgian waffles and a hot chocolate.
We were informed that they were out of waffles - not sure how hard it is to keep them in stock but at half ten in the morning they shouldn't have sold out.
We then waited another ten minutes for our order to arrive, and during this time, the table next to us were served their ordered despite the fact they came in after us.
My coffee and walnut cake was very dry, and the coffee was tepid.
When my son approached the counter to pay, the waitress behind the counter walked away without acknowledging him and he waited 2-3 minutes for someone to come back to accept our payment.
During our visit I did not encounter one smile from any of the staff, and as far as I am concerned £13.00 for two small hot drinks and two pieces of cake only added insult to injury.
It's a shame that they have got the style and ambiance of the place so right, but have the customer service so wrong. I won't be going back. Which is a shame.
