“Hidden gem”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

We were looking for a place to go for a lunch on Easter monday and wanted somewhere between London and Dorset to meet up with family. Ringwood is a place we know is easy to get to and the issue was then to find somewhere that would satisfy a foody crowd. we looked on Tripadvisor and found that Elm Tree Inn came highly recommended. We booked for 6 people and went along. The pub is a really good country pub with none of the "gastropub" pretensions you find in so many places now. The food was great honest food at a good price and was served by staff who were happy to help. The place was doing a roaring trade, and rightly so, the weather was great so we sat outside at one of the many tables, inside looked very cosy but good days being rare we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to eat outside. Of especial not is that all of the deserts are made in house, unusual in this day and age.

I would recommend this place without reservation, it really is a hidden gem.

“very relaxed”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

Last Saturday myself and my family celebrated my birthday by having lunch here, some of our guests were late arriving, but the staff were very patient. Everybody ordered something different, but they all said how lovely it was, the ribs were to die for my daughter and son said, the steak pie was delicious I am told, and I had the haddock with crushed potato, absolutely gorgeous, some of us had desserts and the childens meals were very good as well, I would highly recommend this village pub.

“Managed to fit us in”
Reviewed March 21, 2014 via mobile

Friday night arrived without booking, they were very busy, however managed to fit us in on a table reserved for later.
Food was well cooked well presented and tasty. The staff were efficient and friendly.
Booked for next night as we had come away for weekend as it was our anniversary.

“What a Pleasant Surprise!”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

We met at the Elm Tree Inn with our good friends for a celebration and catch-up meal on Friday Evening at their suggestion.
Despite the fact that they have suffered quite severe flooding during the recent bad weather and therefore half of the restaurant was out of action, the quality of the meal and the service were quite superb. Also despite being extremely and justifiably busy, the atmosphere was great and the waiting staff were obviously happy and enjoying their work.
As I have said, the meals were not only cooked beautifully but the portion sizes were HUGE!! and the menu was varied with a very good choice...we were certainly not disappointed.
Whilst our friends have been here a number of times, this was our first visit. It will definitely not be our last!
