We were looking for a place to go for a lunch on Easter monday and wanted somewhere between London and Dorset to meet up with family. Ringwood is a place we know is easy to get to and the issue was then to find somewhere that would satisfy a foody crowd. we looked on Tripadvisor and found that Elm Tree Inn came highly recommended. We booked for 6 people and went along. The pub is a really good country pub with none of the "gastropub" pretensions you find in so many places now. The food was great honest food at a good price and was served by staff who were happy to help. The place was doing a roaring trade, and rightly so, the weather was great so we sat outside at one of the many tables, inside looked very cosy but good days being rare we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to eat outside. Of especial not is that all of the deserts are made in house, unusual in this day and age.
I would recommend this place without reservation, it really is a hidden gem.
