Our room was the Ashby Suite. It was stylishily decorated with dark wood furniture and a big bed. The bathroom stole the show, though. It had an enormous bath tub (big enough for 2!) and was flatteringly lit. The bedroom was on the small side but as it was just me and my husband and we were out most of the time we didn't find this a problem and it was still a delight to come home to after a busy day. The room was cosy and nice and warm. There was a tv on the wall, ut its DTV which I believe is through a wireless internet signal and the tv signal was intermittent. It isn't clear but there is a DVD player attached so we watched a film in bed after dinner which was a treat! It was a pain to use my hairdryer as the only plug socket was under a table so we were constantly swapping phone chargers, camera chargers, and hair dryer around

Breakfast was delicious. The sausages and bacon were excellent quality and we really enjoyed it (cereals, yoghurt and fruit also available). Breakfast is onl availale 8:30 - 9:30 so set you alarm! The room was dimly lit which was weird when eating breakfast. Not much natural light.

We had dinner in the bar/pub part of this establishment on our first night. It is a traditional English pub with a roaring fire and wooden beams. The food was outstanding! Really really delicious, good quality, fine food. The only downside was I could only eat 2 meals on the whole menu as I am gluten free and both were chicken which wasn't a problem for me but if you happen to be veggie too then you were stuck. One night I wanted a desert and everything on the menu was made with wheat. In the end the manager said he thought they had some raspberry sorbet which was nice but as it was winter I would have preferred something warm. I mentioned to them that I found it hard to eat here because of their lack of gluten free options so hopefully chef will consider the menu more carefully next season.

The hotel claims it is "dog friendly" and we seemed to be the only people without a dog! Despite this there was no nasty dog hair anywhere and the rooms were spotless and smelled lovely.

Also, there is NO PHONE RECEPTION and wifi is only available (weak signal) if you sit in the corridor outside the toilets. To me this is ridiculous and a major flaw in their business. Some people may enjoy turning their phone off and being away from civilization but this should be their choice not something they have to do because the hotel haven't bothered to get a router with a wide enough range or another phone line.

My advice:
1. Bring a DVD or 2 to watch snuggled up in bed after dinner
2. Set your alarm for breakfast so you don't miss it!! Remember, it is the most important meal of the day and is delicious.

we stayed as we had been to Beauliea on wanted a nice place to stay with some decent food that wasn't far away, we were steered here from various reviews etc, and we were surprised, it was very clean, professionally run, and was surrounded by forests, with pony's and deer etc.
rooms where comfy and nice bathrooms, food was very nice,
the place is much bigger than you would imagine, harder to find if you come at it from a slightly wrong direction, as we missed a small roadsign, had we of followed that it would of been a breeze.
Following day we went round the new forest and back home, a thoroughly enjoyable few days..

ONLY 1 DOWNSIDE - the rooms we were in weren't very good at keeping sound out, so we could here everyones big heavy wellington boots crash about, as a lot of the floors near the rooms and the stairs are that wooden style flooring, so they made noise all the time, and dog paws sliding about aswell, they obv done have carpet from a easy of cleaning point of view, however just made it a noisy stay..
THAT said made us fancy getting a dog...

Stayed here in December 2013. After needing to use my GPS to drive down the gravel path I finally arrived in this wonderfully out of the way spot. With lots of good walking nearby and some facilities for horses you can definitely keep your visit as busy or relaxed as you choose. The rooms were well equipped with a modern bathroom. The food and drinks served in the pub were of a great quality and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Please can you update your map locator on your website as it's completely in the wrong direction.
No good for people trying to find it as I had a wasted journey yesterday.
Put the postcode in map search and you'll see its in Linwood down the A338 NOT of the Christchurch Road past Ringwood as your map shows .... Thanks

High Corner is off the beaten track and we spent a very peaceful night, here. In the morning, we could hear the horses, outside and a woodpecker.
The room has recently been decorated to a good, acceptable, standard. Our bed was comfortable and the facilities in the room good.
The staff at the inn were very friendly and welcoming. We used the restaurant in the evening and the food was delicious and plentiful. Prices are good for the main courses, on average £10-£12.
The breakfast was well prepared and of a good standard.
The High Corner is well situated for the New Forest. I would definitely use this again.

Room Tip: We used the Rosewood. Allbeit, this was on the car park side, we found it very quiet.

We have just had the most amazing sunday lunch at this beautiful new forest pub. I remembered this from my youth (many years ago!) as being known as the pub in the middle of nowhere and it really is set back away from the main road in the middle of the forest with ponies roaming in the large pub garden. I bet this will be amazing in the summer so we will be back for that. We parked here and went for a walk then came back for lunch. The Carvery rivals most I have eaten, what made the difference was the lovely selection of vegetables, they had red cabbage, creamed leaks, winter cabbage, carrots, roasted veg, parsnips, creamed sliced potatoes and roasties. Three choices of meat and a yorkshire pud, yum yum! The service was great, and at £10.95 you cant go wrong. We will definitely be going back for seconds and might even go for an overnight stay.

Stayed here for 1 Sunday night in early Jan 14.

Great place and dog friendly so Monty was happy as Larry (so to speak).

A good range of beers with the Inn more set up for dining and people staying.

Had the carvery on Sun which was enough to see us through to Mon morning breakfast which was a treat.
