“So good!”

What a wonderful pub.
The staff were really welcoming and friendly and our food arrived quickly. My husband had an enormous rump steak, perfectly cooked, with a mountain of chips. I opted for the duck, black pudding and risotto which is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. We finished with a slab of sticky toffee pudding and lashings of cream.

It's not the cheapest meal I've ever had, but it is undoubtedly one of the best. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely return.

“Hearty Food Made with Love”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

We had the immense pleasure of dinning at the Trusty Servant twice during our stay in Lyndhurst the first time was for the Sunday Roast and then again the following night. Both times the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and accomodating, special mention for the chef Colin and the manager both of whom were brimming with country hospitality.

The Faithful Servant is what british pubs used to be serving good honest meals made from fresh local ingredients, unpretentious, tasty and with portions big enough for the biggest appetite.

This little pub is a hidden gem just a few km out of town down a country road and the ponies will most likely say hello if you stop along the way. Plenty of locals in the pub which is always a good sign and the best meals we had in New Forrest by a country mile.

Tip: If you are going for the legendary Sunday roast then go early for the widest selection of roast meats and make sure that you try the home made deserts.

All food is made on their premises including shortbreads which were yummy with a cup of tea to finish the meal off, even the tea was noteworthy a special affrican blend that has a rich taste and we will be looking to buy it ourselves.

Just wish we could stay longer and try the vennison steaks that look amazing!

“Warm reception”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

A typical autumnal weekend made even more pleasant by a warm welcome from the staff, open log fires crackling with well dreid wood, an excellent range of beers from whihc to chose and an extensive menu.

I settled for the rabbit with three mustrd mash - a real delight albeith I had forgotten just how many bones come with the dish! Nevertheless the effor was worth it. My partern enjoyed the warm winter salad with a tune steack - whilst not offered to the oppoeruntiyt to have the steak noice an pink it was by no means over cooked,

Sat in the centre of Minsted - an idyllic New Forest Village this lovely pub is a worth a visit at any tme of they year..

“A really enjoyable meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

We booked a table having seen on trip advisor. Good menu which included pub standards and lots of local food. We both chose from the dishes on the specials board. I had glazed ham hock served with mustard mash and creamed leeks and my husband had venison steak with red cabbage and herbed roast potatoes. Both meals were good and portions very generous. You order at the bar but the food is served by very friendly waiting staff. All the other food that I saw being served looked good, especially the massive burgers.
Desert choice was good and there was a choice of local ice cream in many flavours. We spent about £50 on two courses and four drinks. Would go again.

“Superb Forest Pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

We visited the Trusty Servant twice last week, and on both occasions the food and drink were superb. The sunday roast was one of the best that i have had in along time,The pub was packed out on both visits, and the landlady Debbie is right on the ball, and runs a well organised establishment. The prices are not cheap, but the quality is there. If you are in the New Forest try and visit this pub.
