We visited on a sunday night, never having been there before. We just caught the end of an excellent live singing act, which they apparantly have every sunday early evening. We both had the sunday roast, beef and lamb and the very generous portions were delicious. Mainly a pub for locals but we were made to feel very welcome.

My friend and I met up for lunch at the Waterloo Arms, looking forward to a good meal in a convivial atmosphere. 45 minutes later, the waiter had made no effort to take our order, neither had he made any apology for the long wait or given an explanation or shown any courtesy whatsoever. Saturday lunchtime in one of the tourist hotspots of the New Forest, this rudeness was unbelievable and intolerable, leaving us only one option - to leave and go elsewhere.

Visited this beautiful thatched pub while touring the new forest. I cannot fault the food, it was delicious, but the waitress needs to go on a hospitality course as she was very abrupt.

We hadn't booked and werre lucky to get a table for 4. Prompt service and good quality lunch, Plenty to eat. At £9.95 per head we think this is good value,

This pub is supposed to be over 700 years old and is ust before entering Lyndhurst. It is a small thatched roof pub, not much room but it does serve excellent food at a reasonable price. The staff that served us were very friendly and willing to share their ideas and provide us with places to see and things to do. If you are in the area it is must.
