What a place, no matter what time of the year you travel through it. The scenery is well worth taking a car ride through the park areas, and interesting little villages, many inviting and old Inns to pop into, all very friendly, and the meals generally are very good, they have to be to compete with other places who would welcome you also. Its easy to get around, you have to drive slowly, and that's good, as it makes it a restful drive with time to take in the scenery. You will most certainly need a camera with you, even if its only to snap the wild horses and roaming pigs, while you dodge the cattle meandering across your path. Yes, a delightful forested area to visit any time of the year.

Nice place to visit. There are lots of villages throughout the forest and surrounding area, each having a slightly different feel. Recommend Brockenhurst and Beaulieu.

If your looking to visit somewhere that is perfect for everyone then the New Forest is the perfect place. Brilliant walking, cycling, horse riding, and an abundance of wildlife, lots of open space, some superb restaurants, excellent beeches locally, great night life a short distance away, including theaters there really is something for everyone. You can be as active or as relaxed as you like. I moved here 10 years ago and still feel like I'm on holiday. The locals are friendly and its also believed to be the safest place to live and visit in the UK. How superb is that!!!

Being December there were few visitors and enjoyed the area. Plenty of space and parking. Could be overcrowded in summer
