“Stay at Ashurst camping site you won't regret it!!”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

First time camping since a child. Was a bit anxious, but Ashurst is brilliant! Clean facilities, friendly reception staff and great for children! Lovely walks too :) the new forest pub is lovely, good food and a great play area for the children. Lyndhurst is great for little souvenirs and a lovely ice cream, go to 'Indulgence' if you fancy waffles and a comfy sofa (a little luxury break from camping!). There is a salt water swimming pool...only £2:50 for adults and £1:50 for kids...rubbish cafe if your a foodie like me but other pele seemed to enjoy their chips and average burgers....personally next. Time I'd pack a picnic...you can kayak here and the guys from sea hawk also organise kayaking down the river....I'll do this next time too.
Do visit the wildlife park in deer leap lane and do buy fresh farm produce from the farm shop on deer leap lane.
Highlights, horses strolling past your tent in the morning as you drink your cuppa,
Cows hanging by your tent and making the kids laugh!

“Wonderful area to escape to.”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Very picturesque area of Hampshire with plenty of places to pull off the road and soak up the view or the sun. Ideal for the kids to get outside and let some steam off in the woods. You might even see some of the pretty new forest ponies grazing amongst the trees.

Loved it - the ponies are endearing and the forest is so clean and well looked after. Lots of picturesque villages to visit and walks to go on. DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!

“No other place like the New Forest.”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

I am fortunate to have friends in this area and can come and stay. New Forest is lovely and special with it's Common Laws that allow New Forest ponies, pigs, donkeys and cattle to room freely through the area. What a treat to go to your Local for a pint and have the donkeys opening the pub door (not really but almost!)! The villages are sweet and full of friendly people and some of the best food is found in the local pubs. So worth a visit and better if you stay a night.
