“Brilliant service”

We were well looked after by Mel and Fred during our stay at the B & B. The room was very spacious with an ensuite, which included a huge bath and a shower. The room had tea and coffee making facilities and was very well decorated and very clean. There was also ample cupboard space.

An added bonus is that it is within walking distance to Lyndhurst and surrounding restaurants and pubs.

There is a parking space available.

We had visited the area for a sportive, which had an early start and Fred even accommodated this early start and we got our full English breakfasts at 6am!

I would highly recommend this B & B.

Fred and Mel took great care of us. Mel's a great cook and was very accommodating (I'm vegetarian and gluten-free). Her homemade jam is excellent and is worth the stay all on its own. The bathroom was gorgeous and warm, and the bathtub was great after a long day of cycling. The room (Allium) was big and spacious too.

Fred gave us great advice about how to get around, and when it was time to check out, they were happy to hang onto our bags for a number of hours. All in all, lovely people who really put the "guest" in "guesthouse".

Room Tip: Allium is the bigger of the two rooms. If you can get it, grab it, though we heard from the other co...

Thank you very much for a such a great review. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, but especially the breakfast. My jam appears to be boardering on becoming famous lol. We hope that you enjoyed your visit to the New Forest enough to maybe come back again someday.

We just enjoyed a wonderful two nights at the Acorns , hosted By Mel and Fred, two of the most lovely B&B owners, we have ever chanced to meet. Their helpfulness started before we even arrived with the booking, which we struggled with doing on line. Fred organized to email us so we could arrange payment of the deposit, plus he assured us of good secure parking of our motorbike, something that concerns me when booking any accommodation. Mel was there to greet us and offered to help carry bags etc to out room. We had booked the Teal room, one of two that they currently offer for guests. It was large enough with good bed and some easy chairs with nice en suite shower room, with loo and basin.
Both Mel and Fred were great hosts, offering advise and suggestions as to where to visit. The big bonus is that the house is situated only a few hundred yards from the centre of town, and yet it is in a lovely quiet spot, with no traffic noise.
The breakfasts were great, full English, with the option for vegetarian and even gluten free food, so they are very tuned in to dietary needs, nothing seems too much trouble. The coffee comes in bucket loads and is proper coffee, none of that instant stuff!!! The real treat is Mel's home made preserves, which are really top drawer jams and should be sampled at all costs!! The Kiwi Fruit jam is to die for and we convinced Mel to sell us a couple of jars.
We really couldn't fault anything about our all too short a stay, we will certainly use them if we are heading to the heart of the New Forest again for a weekend break.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, I am almost speechless. It's always lovely to hear that our efforts have been appreciated but I am a little overwhelmed about the response to my simple jams. It's an absolute pleasure to accommodate such lovely, friendly and easy going guests and we certainly would love to see you come back again someday. Hope your Mum enjoyed the Kiwi jam as much as you did.

My partner and I stayed at Acorns of lyndhurst for the weekend at valentines.
Our room (the Aliumm) was huge king size bed and very comfortable & en-suite bath, shower and breakfast in the morning was freshly prepared and delicious.
Nothing was too much trouble with Fred & Mel.
the bed was decorated the day we arrived and valentine day with roses and chocolates which looked amazing.
The location of B&B was amazing very quiet & easy access to lyndhurst and would thoroughly recommended this place to anyone wanting a break in new forest
Another 5 stars great stay
Thanks for an amazing break Mel & Fred
Will be back for another break soon

Thank you for your glowing review, we are so glad that you enjoyed your Valentine's weekend with us. It was a pleasure for me to do the room decorations for you as it's something I enjoy. Hopefully we might see you again in the better weather so you can appreciate the forest a little more next time.

What a great little b&b, we always do small family run places and this the epitome of this. Room was great, and had a bath to. Fred and Mel are great hosts, great vegeterian breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Alium room, very nice.

My husband & I stayed here, based on recommendations on Trip Advisor, and can honestly say the 5 stars are well justified. Lovely place, quiet, well situated, comfortable, clean and great breakfast.

Mel & Fred made us feel so welcome with their wonderful friendly, personal touch. Lots of advice and help for where to go and what to do. Lent us a cycling map of the New Forest which came in very handy and gave us some good tips on where to go in the evening.

We got back from a muddy ride and Fred was on hand with the hose pipe so we could clean the bikes down and cleared a space for us to store them in the garage overnight - another big bonus for us.

If you don't mind that you're staying in someone's family home (run like a professional B&B business though) then this is the place for you. If you love a friendly welcome, personal touch and great attention to detail then there's nowhere better.

Another big 5 Stars! Thanks for a lovely stay

Excellent B&B, very well kept room with massive bed and en-suite facilities. Fred and Mel were very helpful and were able to suggest good routes for walks in the forest. My girlfriend and I had a great time and would thoroughly recommend Acorns to anyone taking a break in the New Forest.
