“beautiful location”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

I love popping into this pub whenever I am passing, which is not often as I dont live near Bournemouth. The location is really lovely, we had lunch which was reasonably priced and the staff were very pleasant. Would recommend.

“Loverly pub in the heart of the New Forest”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Came across this very nice pub as we were passing through the New Forest. Good range of cask ales with varied menu at a reasonable price. Large gardens with wonderful children's wooden play frame spread over a large area. great for families on a nice day.

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We visited the new forest and stayed in a campsite. We were glad to find this place and sit outside with the doggies and enjoy a well deserved bite to eat and drink

“Such a shame! Thought we had actually found a good pub in the forest!!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Such a shame as we are local but haven't tried it here before. Only went for a drink - my husband questioned the landlord as the lager was flat, he certainly did not get a response that was very pleasant. The landlord basically tipped the lager into another glass saying 'does that look flat to you?' My husband was astounded! especially as a friend we were with saw someone else a couple of mins earlier complaining about the same thing. Such a shame as we thought we had actually found a nice pub in the forest to go to but unfortunately we won't be going there again! These pubs should sometimes think they they also need locals rather than just tourist to make their money. We would have loved to have come back in the winter when your not so reliant on cash from people on their hols! Don't go there!!!

“Brilliant pub”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

We were staying at the Travelodge stingy cross and this was very close 5 minutes away. Great pub, clean friendly and not expensive, menu had a vast range and children's menu also extremely good. The outside area is fantastic with a play area for children and you may even by lucky enough to see some wild horses too. Would highly recommend this pub
