Stayed at this hotel with my husband, 3 year old daughter and 5 month old son for one night in August 2013. We chose this hotel due to its close proximity to Peppa Pig world. Hotel very well presented and spotlessly clean on check in and staff very friendly. We booked an executive family room and were allocated room 34 above the pool. The room was the perfect size for us, with bunk beds and plenty of space for a travel cot. Bed really comfy, room quiet and facilities good, only negatives are that the furniture is looking dated and as the room was above the pool it was very warm, but a fan was provided. Pool lovely and towels are provided by the hotel. Bar area great for eating early with children and breakfast was really nice. We had early passes for Peppa Pig world, so breakfast being served from 0730 was great and our little girl really liked the pancakes. Overall we would stay at the hotel again, but are glad we didn't pay full price for the room as I don't think it would have lived up to the cost.

We stayed at the Forest Lodge for two nights with 2 adults and 3 children (5, 3 and 1). We were planning on arriving on Friday after work, so around 8. However, due to traffic, we arrived a much later, well past the closing time of the restaurant. The staff called us to find out where we were at 8.30 and suggested that we we choose, over the phone, what we'd like to eat to ensure we would not have to go to bed with an empty stomac. So we made our choice and were expecting a lukewarm, bland meal which was heated in the microwave, only to discover that the staff had gone out of their way to prepare a light, tasty, perefctly cooked meal. However, before we arrived and having prepared ourselves for a painful check-in with 3 crying children, check-in was swift, friendly and very professional. Moreover, the room was spacious, perfect size for our family (nothing like the usual cramped cot-squeezed-between-bed-and-wall). It was clean, and complimentary toiletries were well above the standard you'd expect from a bog-standard 3* best western. Service at the bar was with a smile (even when we had dinner with the children who were hungry and noisy). Breakfast was also very nice with any cooked version just to be ordered from the friendly staff. I find it really hard even to give constructive feedback as this hotel, in my view, comes as close to a 4* hotel at 3* prices as you'll ever find anywhere.

We stayed here in August 2013 for 4 night dinner, bed & breakfast break, my aunt aged 88 stayed in an access able room, my husband, my 2 boys aged 8&5 and I stayed in a family room, big room with bunk beds. The rooms were spotless, very comfortable. The food was fantastic, we ate in The Glasshouse Resturant every night and it was impressive! The hotel location was great, just when we got back to hotel to chill boys insisted we went to the indoor pool with hotel, not a bad size and again very clean and warm. Not the cheapest hotel but all in all good value for a short break in the UK. Would recommend to friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask for family room on ground floor, we stayed in room 4

Stayed for 4 nights to celebrate our 15 wedding anniversary. The hotel itself is fine (nothing special). Only Booked as thought I could use Tesco vouchers (which tuened out I could, but not get the dinner B&B rate) so decided to book direct without vouchers.

For the price, nearly £180 per night including dinner was very disappointed
Room (19) small but clean. Came with our dog & before arrival did ask for quite room, which I guess we got.

Found the hotel staff ok but not overally helpful. Before we arrived I had called to say special occassion but no mention on check in & they did nothing to help us celebrate the occassion. Bit disappointing.

On our anniversary we decided to leave dog in room & go to Glass House for meal. Very disappointed. Service poor & not what I would have expected after reading reviews. Real lack of atmosphere My steak very fatty & could not eat most if it. Staff very young & clearly needed training as did not even realise wine we ordered needed a bottle opener rather than screw top!

Overall I would say hotel very good but not for price we paid.

The atmosphere in bar was dull (could have improved by even putting bit of back ground music on)

Overall found hotel clean but dull. For price we paid I would have expected much better service and more atmosphere in evening.

we stayed here for 2 nights in August 2013 on a visit to peppa pig world and Bournemouth.
We stayed in room 18 which was a family room which was very big, clean and upto date. We payed for 2 adults and 2 children so was a bit disappointed that the children had to share a sofa bed, plenty of room for 2 single beds/bunk beds. Was also confused why we were only given 2 bath towels and 2 mouthwash cups when we were paying for 4 people, bedroom was only made up for 2 people when we got there so were given a complimentary drink while waiting for this to be sorted :) the pool was meant to be heated but we went at night and had to get out as the kids were shaking it was that cold, apparently the water was reading the right temperature but obviously this was not the case, also no towels when we went down to changing room, went up to tell reception and they said you have to phone up, so done this and got towels about 10 mins later. The breakfast was no where near good enough, I opted for vegetarian which had under boiled potatoes??? also no kids breakfast available so they had to share an adults breakfast. Hotel staff were very polite and tried to sort things out immediately. I can even remember jasmine and Rebecca's name as they were helpful and polite bot had smiles on their faces which was great. overall the hotel is ok staff are great :)

I am pleased to read that the staff took good care of you during your stay, despite your disappointments as mentioned. I am surprised to read your comment about no kids breakfasts being available as we have tailored our breakfast menu to suit the family market. The general manager has been informed and will implement training to ensure that all restaurant staff are fully aware of the changes. I do hope you will consider returning to one of our New Forest hotels in the near future. Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Stayed last night due to weekend visit to Peppa Pig World. Great location, very friendly and welcome staff on arrival. Family room with massive double plus bunk beds was perfect for us - 2 adults and 2 kids 3 and 6. Clean and nice room, all in all good value and would recommend.
