“What might have been”

Stable cottage is fabulously located within Lyndhurst and within the New Forest. 200m from the centre of the high street it provides walking distance access to all local pubs and restaurants and lies opposite Bolten's Bench entry to the New Forest, a Mecca for dog walkers. The lounge and kitchen are perfect but beyond that the cottage disappoints. The double bed is intact a futon with a meagre mattress. The dinning room table shared my 16 year old's bedroom,l. Two of the dinning room chairs were broken, the shower riser was held together with a cable tie, the sink in the bathroom and both toilet flushes need a plumbers attention and their has been extensive leaks in the hall and the kitchen soiling both ceilings with extensive water damage. None of these is earth shattering but when being asked to pay nearly £200 a night they begin to stick in the throat. Despite raising all of these issues with the owner none have been addresses - apparently high season is too busy to fix outstanding issues of this kind. The cottage could be fabulous and just needs a bit of love and care. In its current state £100 a night would be fair. At nearly £200 it is unacceptable.
