This is a lovely B&B to stay in from which you can discover the New Forest. Lovely warm welcome, room spacious, warm and very well maintained. Fab breakfasts with friendly chats with the owners. Loved every minute we were there and will definitely be going back.

We stayed at Burley last week and wanted to try a different part of the new forest. After searching the internet we came across Clayhill, first impressions didnt blow me away but once inside, the rooms where lovely. some parts of the house needs attention but that didnt matter to us. The customer service from the owner i have to say was first class, made us feel right at home and greeted us with tea and biscuits and was very helpful with local information. town was 10 mins away

We received a very warm welcome on arrival. We arrived earlier than the check-in time, but we were promptly showed to our room to put our bags in, etc. The room was lovely - just like in the pictures! The room, which was the king/twin, was a great size, very clean and well decorated. Everyday our room was cleaned whist we had breakfast - which was nice to come back to.

The breakfast was really nice & the table was always set immaculately. There was a selection of fruits, cereals, yoghurt & fresh fruit juices to have, whist any hot order was being prepared - which was delicious.

Guests are given a key to the front door, which was great as we could come and go as we pleased.

The location is perfect for exploring the New Forest. Lots of villages are within a short drive, and Lyndhurst's high street is about a 15 minute walk away. Southampton's centre is about 20 minutes in the car.

Stayed in June 2012. The owners were away but we were well looked after by their stand-ins who made us tea when we arrived. The room was a good size with a seating area which came in handy. Breakfasts were fine, and the B&B is handy for Lyndhurst - around 15-20 mins walk away. As noted on a few reviews the B&B is on a busy main road with continual traffic day and night which could be a problem for some people. We had a look at the pub next door but it didn't look especially welcoming so we ate at a pub called the Hobler, which was around 15 minutes' drive, between Brockenhurst and Lymington.

We stayed 2 nights at Clayhill House before going on a cruise from Southampton. Lovely place to stay, breakfast was very enjoyable with lots of choice, accommodation very clean and well kept, we stayed in the room at the back which we would recommend as it as quieter than the rooms at the front as the house is on a very busy and noisy main road. Another reason we stayed here was because it was near the local pub, unfortunately was not a pub we would recommend.

Room Tip: Choose the room at the back as it is quieter.

Spent three nights in March and had a lovely time. A nice old house with a bit of character, very friendly people running the establishment who are better than a guide book when it comes to knowing what to see and do.

Nice breakfast in the morning, would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: Back rooms are quieter.

stayed for 6 nights 4th march to 10th march 2012, we were made a lovely cup of tea on arrival, by mike, son of chris and margaret, our room (3) was facing the front of the house, and although we had read about noise being a problem it did not bother us at all, after all if you book at a guest house which is on a main road what do you expect. the breakfasts were fabulous, the eggs were gorgeous, this could be due to the fact that the chickens live in the garden, the whole family were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, also they were very knowledgeable about the local area and able to offer advice on what to see and where to eat. the room itself was beautiful, bed was made and towels changed daily and the lovely touches ie sweets, tissues, etc was very good.all in all a wonderful stay

Room Tip: only 3 rooms so book early.
