Having heard this was a good place we made sure to arrive early for a Sat. lunch. It is stunning with the Test running right at your feet, a lovely arched road bridge a little upstream and the pub itself nestled alongside. We enjoyed a warm welcome, very good service and delicious food.
Try the baked cheese if it's still on the menu when you go! The pub is also one of the few I've found where there is allocated no-smoking outside as well as inside so if you are a non-smoker you can still enjoy the outside seating without being smoked out.
Parking was easy (The pub is on the A3057) but we noticed a fair few walkers using it as their lunch stop as they negotiated the Test Valley Way. Having arrived early-ish we were lucky to nab a two seater `cosy' in the window so could see the river and the people coming and going.
Definitely heading back there again.
